Sears used to be a good chain store. Went to hell after the marketing folks got a hold of it. They had to have good, better, much better, best and bestest. Too many choices confused everything. Now, the local store is going out of business and i couldn't get a C3 battery or filter for my sears shop vac. They said go on line. Need it now; not later. Waste of gas again. I have all Craftsman tools which they sold. Dumb. They were innovative and great tools. Da. Corporate idiots run the country now. Two screws cost $1.79 at hardware. America can't survive run by corporations. $22T debt and climbing exponentially. Who wants US debt? It's useless.
Extremely rude ladies by the lawn mowers and dryers. I walked thru the dryer section about 10 mind to close and she said, “ Omg were about to close!” I ignored and continued to find my his band in the lawn mowers. Then we met the lady with short brown hair in the mower department. We sat there for 30 min without any help. Then when she did finally help us, she said the mower we were looking at was sold and she forgot to mark it. When she pulled the tag out we realized it was 1599 instead of 599 and she laughed at us that we thought u could buy a mower for that price... not sure who taught her customer service, but being rude and “over your job” isn’t helping keep Sears stores open. We were going to buy one and now we’ll go anywhere else. Fix it or shut it down! It hurts to watch that business try to stay open with people who could care less!
I bought a dishwasher. It broke after a dozen washes. $400 no help from Sears. They sent me to Frigidaire, sat on their phone tree for ten minutes for them to tell me they can't help me. Terrible product, terrible service. I will never shop at Sears or buy a Frigidaire ever again. Buyer Beware.
I was a delivery driver for this company, sears itself is a good company, but the man who run the delivery teams subcontractor is terrible. If yo I order anything from sears to be delivered, he will screw you over, in many cases while I was working there he dropped deliveries just because he wanted to go home and drink. So don’t get deliveries from sears. The mans name is Todd Williams. If you do get delivery from them. Remember that if it’s Todd, you will have a terrible experience and most likely your item will not be installed or he will break it. He owes me money and is trying to steal my check from me as I type this. He is bending his own contract laws for the subcontractors underneath him me so he can complete his vendetta against me. Just know I worked there and this is first hand experience from me. I am not bashing sears or his company. Just informing all who decide to get delivery you will end up disappointed and or angry.
We bought appliances in a bundle on Nov 25. We have received a bill of course , almost 2 weeks later and still no delivery. We get a run around every time we call to check status. We are not able to pick up any appliances at the store as advertised. We are not able to contact a store associate as they rarely answer the phone. We stopped into the store and as soon as the associate found out we had already worked with one of his coworkers, he dropped us. That's what happens when you work on commission. No customer service. We are just a paycheck. We are on the verge of canceling the whole order. We usually shop Lowes or Home Depot. Lesson learned.
This place is dying. Half of the aisles in the tooling area are empty or bulked out with the same items. Prices are always craftsman high, with China quality. Went to look at table saws. I'm shocked they aren't prohibited from selling that junk. Way to unsafe, the fences don't clamp to 90° everytime. They stand wobbly and unstable. Easily the most dangerous tool in a shop made to put someone at risk. I'm sad because they use to produce quality...I mean it's in their top selling brand name.
Women's depth manager was rude and disrespectful to me. Her name was Kathy. The clerk/cashier was polite and extremely helpful. I was tempted to cancel my purchase, but realized ut was not the fault of the cashier. The manager said she had to go help another customer. It did not matter that she was helping me. She didn't want to help me.
Very poor customer service! We purchased a stove from Sears in Traverse City & come to find out it had a broken valve. Sears does absolutely nothing to remedy the situation. They proceed to tell us that if we had bought the extended warranty they could send someone out to look.... IT IS A BRAND NEW STOVE - a product they are selling, but if you don't purchase a the extended warranty they do not stand behind it. Ridiculous! They then refer us to GE, which is a other run-around. Bottom line they do not stand behind their products. Around the same time we purchased New tires from the auto department. The package we purchased came with an alignment. Currently, they do not have a mechanic, so to get the alignment included in our package, they recommend we drive two and a half hours to the next sears to get it. Now, I know its not just me, but that is absurd and unreasonable to ask. They were unwilling to give us a credit for the amount of just the alignment or cash back to pay for it elsewhere. Won't be going back.
I called lawn and garden to inquire about mowers, the gal who answered sounded as if i was bothering her, then said hold..and never came back. If this is how they are treating customers then I am not at all surprised they are closing stores...such a shame...back in the day they were well regarded. Something went WAY wrong in management...
This store WILL NOT stand by its product and WILL laugh at you when you ask them to. Bought a $1000 piece of garbage here, based upon the salesman's assertion that Sears will stand buy its product and return it. The product I purchased---the most expensive high-end bike they sell--didn't work it was filled with rust in the gear section due to Sears letting it sit in a humid environment, according to Nordictrack and they wouldn't replace it in full, even though they sold me a rusty pile of junk. This place is trash. Thom Hooper, who runs the fitness department is worthless and his manager, Mike, is awful. Purchased a $1000 bike. Neither would reimburse me fully for the cost of the bike even though it came broken and with rust in the gears. He wouldn't stand by his product and became indignant when I asked him to reimburse me. Claimed I was lucky that he was even considering replacing it because it was beyond the 30 day window for 100% returns, even though I had contacted them initially well before the 30 days window had been exceeded, but then been bounced around from Nordictrack, to sears online, to nordictrack, to sears, to nordictrack, and finally back to sears--but this time sears the store in Traverse City, because no one would take responsibility for the problem. Never buy fitness equipment from them. Ever. They do not stand behind their product and they laugh at you when you expect them to. And then hang up the phone. This is why sears is like a ghost town. I purchase nearly everything online now and have returned equivalently heavy or bulky products on Amazon and NEVER ONCE have I had to deal with any such illogical incompetence. I can't wait to see this company fail.
