Sears was a great store years ago. I used to love to walk through and look at the tools, grills, lawn equipment, etc... but they see to have lost touch with the American people, they have less and less to show. I did find a couple of socket sets on sale, purchased 2 but couldn't find a cashiers upstairs so I went down stairs and found one.
WORST SERVICE EVER. The delivery guys tore up my brand new house and I have made no less than 30 calls to sears and visited the store 4 times and have gotten no where with getting my home and new appliances repaired. I will never shop at Sears again. Avoid this place at all costs. UPDATE: Sears returned 2 weeks later to put the machine on top of the new drip pan. It was not hooked up correctly and my house flooded! All the way through the ceiling and walls. It's been such a terrible experience it's almost unbelievable. Sears management has not called back to discuss since I reported it this afternoon. Unbelievable. 6 MONTHS LATER - have been trying to get the delivery company’s insurance to pay for repairs $30k and they are dragging their feet. Now I have to file with my homeowners insurance. Avoid sears at all costs!!! 8 MONTHS LATER - FSA Logistics whom Sears hired to do deliveries are not cooperating at all. They accept responsibility but will not offer a settlement. I will have to use my homeowners' insurance now. I would pay 500% more for a product elsewhere before I would ever give a cent to such a crappy company.
I'm only giving this store a star because I have to. I would give no stars if possible. We drove an hour to get to this store because we thought we could get superior service. We came in our comfy Saturday clothes looking to buy a dryer/washer combo and were prepared to spend $2500 cash if we found the right units for us. We found the units we desired after being there for 30 mins and not one associate stopped to say even a hello. We then started making eye contact and tried to wave at one of the associates when we were ready to discuss our wanted units. however it seemed as though we were being purposefully ignored for another 30 minutes. The woman behind who was getting helped was there for a matter of minutes before someone approached her. I will not ever step foot into a Sears again and will be taking my cash for my Purchase elsewhere. Hopefully the next store we go into will treat us with any kind respect or acknowledgement. Edit: we went to Best Buy the next day. They priced matched for us with no hassle and we got the warmest greeting.
I hate to pile on, but I feel a fair review is necessary of my most recent attempt at a purchase with Sears. I ordered a an upright freezer online for a home delivery and installation. After 2 1/2 weeks of emails and phone calls I finally received a delivery date and time range. We made sure someone took off time from work to be here for the delivery. They were a no-show and no call. I communicated with the store and they had absolutely no idea about the order or less the delivery. I got in touch with someone who claimed to be in management and they were non-apologetic and quite frankly condescending. I canceled my order and am now writing this regrettable survey for a sticks and bricks store whose time has come and gone.
It's shutting down. There's already steep going out of business sales. I am not surprised that it's going out of business. A two story store and only one open register? The selection was poor and nothing was ever affordable. Good help you if you had a return. It would take forever to get a manager to show. Stay away from the automotive shop. They will try to upsell and scam you into repairs you don't need!
Store was very well kept up,had no trouble finding what I needed. Yes there is a scarcity of help but the one's there are friendly and helpful. Sears still has a lot to give, too bad so many seem to have written it off. One should give it a try, instant gratification is highly overrated, slow down and enjoy life.
I purchased 3 mattress & box springs plus 3 bed frames on 6/1. Delivery was scheduled for 6/9. I got a call from the driver early 6/9 stating he was on schedule. I then received another call at 10AM stating they would only be delivering the mattress's today. This is horrible service. I drove 1hr 45 minutes to receive the delivery which is incomplete. And I have guests that will not have a bed to sloop on. This is unacceptable Sears.
Disappointed - I needed auto work done and stopped in for an estimate. I was told it would be between $650 and $850 depending on the work needed. So I scheduled time to bring my car back the following week. Called to verify everything and the quote went to $1150. I told him I was in last week and you gave me a quote of $650-$850 for the same work. I am a college student and that is a major difference. I told Sears I had to save more to afford that type of cost and asked how long was the quote good for. Auto center schlep said, "today only" and hung up on me. I found a different garage who did the work and much more for about $400 less. No wonder Sears is going bankrupt – Over priced and rude service! I will never shop at Sears for anything!
Been shopping here since March 2007 and always get a great bargain on clothes and electronics. Been shopping here more since they closed the Sears at Cary Towne Center. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Took one star off because salespeople are kind of pushy to ask you to apply for a Sears credit card.
The sales guy was great, however our experience with sears since has been beyond awful!!!! The delivery people installed the dryer incorrectly, did not have all the supplies and return was even worse. I was told I would receive 100% refund and am 150$ short. I am suppose to call the store to deal with this but no one answers and this is multiple days trying at different times- don't bother having a damn phone if not going to answer it!!! Now I have to drive out of my way to deal with this mess. Customer service on the phone is awful they NEVER connect you with the right people, are rude and can't do their job. I am now using Lowe's and couldn't be happier- they actually answer their phone. NEVER EVER EVER EVER USING SEAR AGAIN!!! You are going out of business for a reason...
