I ate at Sebastien's about a year ago and it was wonderful! I made reservations for December 23 as part of my boyfriend's Christmas gift. I made the reservation on line and then called a couple of days later because I did not get an email confirmation. We arrived and there was only one other couple and two ladies at another table and one or two people at the bar. No reservation was necessary. Our waitress was very friendly. We ordered the filet mignon which was about the same price as other nice restaurants. I asked for mine to be cooked medium and my bf wanted med well. We were so very disappointed when they were both over-cooked. The waitress offered to bring something to replace them, but we had already waited close to 40 minutes and we were hungry. What was even worse it that they tasted like sirloin. I told the waitress that and she did not comprehend what I meant. We will not be going back.
Enjoyed a fantastic evening at Sebastien's on Valentine's Day with husband and friends. The food was exceptional. Nice atmosphere. A great plus for Albertville, AL Contemporary American cuisine with a French influence. For those seeking a romantic restaurant, Sebastien's is intimate yet relaxed. It is a great location for fine dining, anniversaries, and any other special occasions. The delightful ambience is enhanced by the charm of the old building formerly Hamner's. If you haven't tried it, give them a visit.
First, we're talking Albertville, Alabama here -- i.e. if you're accustomed to fine dining in lower Manhattan, or even Atlanta, you need to recalibrate your expectations. Once you've undergone that adjustment, you will find Sebastien's perhaps the best "fine dining" restaurant in the area. It's a little on the pricey side for the region, and the portions are generally on the smaller side to boot, but the quality of the food is very good. The decor is intimate and well decorated. It's a small restaurant, and is quite popular as well, but everything is tastefully done. Most of the locals are very impressed after their sticker shock has worn off. Their wine list is on the flat side, but again the local clientele is not going to pay fine wine prices though they likely have a couple bottles of the "good stuff" for those special occasions. The menu is short, but changes to stay fresh. I have never had a bad meal, and most of what I have had has been very good to excellent. I'm a transplant from the Metro NYC area and have dined at some of the most renown, exclusive restaurants in the city. Sebastien's is simply the best restaurant you can go to without making a long trip to BHM or HSV. If you're looking for a nice, reasonably-priced restaurant for a special occasion, a date, or just because you want to "splurge" a little on yourself, Sebastien's is not just a good option, it's really your *only* option in or around town.
this restaurant is a complete joke. they try to present themselves as some high-class, fancy atmosphered establishment, and yes, the atmosphere is very nice, but the sleekness and refinement belies the true nature of what is actually a mediocre, low-class restaurant. i ordered a hamburger, cooked medium well, and it tasted like they cooked it far as they could on the grill, but then microwaved it the rest of the way. the taste reflected some sort of botched cooking attempt, and i couldn't even finish it. i could've gotten a better hamburger from hardee'shardee's is garbage!. for the price, it was very substandard, i honestly couldn't believe how bad it was. the service was good, however, and the waiter was very nice, but i'd rather have poor service and great food!!
Had the Alaskan Salmon seasonal dinner. The fish was cooked just as I asked and still tender. Rice and vegetable sides were good as well. Small, cozy, "intimate" restaurant that I've heard will be moving in to a more authentic building soon.
We went here for a rehearsal dinner. It was decent but not gourmet. The atmosphere was quiet and romantic.
best shrimp and grits ever bang bang shrimp is also great great service especially at the bar
Bad lettuce on salad. Food cold when served. Only 20 people there on Saturday night .
The food was excellent and the wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Worked 35 hours for former location and was never paid.
