Select Specialty Hospital (Wichita, KS)

I spent a couple months in your facility and found the care to be excellent, this facility saved my life. The nurses went above and beyond, they were always professional, kind and especially compassionate. I would highly recommend the floor staff with 5 stars. The food was always great as well. With that being said, the admission process needs some attention- my mother was admitted yesterday and spent over 8 hrs in the waiting room with a doctors order to admit. Once she got to her room at 3am, she began to experience the same compassionate care I received.

I have absolutely no complaints. I have been treated so awesome! The food is good. Michelle the RT, Linda in PT, Angela in OT, and Madison the teletech are great, but there are too many to thank! I truly don’t believe I would be here today without them.

The aides are friendly and provided good service. Really appreciate how empathetic the registered nurses are.

The nurses and CNAs are all really good at what they do, especially the night shift. The food have always been good and great service. I would personally recommend coming here if you need to. I am very satisfied with the care Ive gotten.

It was good. It just need more nurses. I had to wait at times to have my light answered.

Everyone here, nurses and CNAs have been so kind. My husband has come so far in his short stay here. I cannot find anything to complain about at all! I am simply amazed!1

The staff was very friendly , Caring and very professional. Would recommend to more family.

Last year my wife spent 14 months there for a pressure sore and infection. Only about half of the staff could be considered average or better, the others were incompetent at best. Now my wife is scheduled to return for 6 to 8 weeks, and the admissions staff have spent two weeks fouling up the process. They ran the insurance incorrectly they have twice cancelled at the last minute which has cost me about $300. I in good conciousness would not recomend this "skilled" nursing facility.

Sub par care of patients by nurses and lazy, incompetent case managers. My father was transferred from St Francis' care, where he was well cared for, to Select and the difference has proven to be a significant downgrade. Select nurses sitting at the nurses station playing on their personal phones facetiming, playing games, surfing the net while they ignore the call button. I've been up there for hours waiting while no nurse comes into the room to clear my father's trach blockages even after I ask. This is particularly prevalent on the weekends. I should have have to ask over to get someone to help him. While I encountered a couple of nice people as a whole, this place is woefully mismanaged and not a place you want your loved one in. Addition to my prior post in April 2021. After speaking with a coworker whose mother was in a Select facility in KC, it appears they experienced terrible care for their mother, so poor care seems to be a common theme for these facilities.
