We don't limit ourselves to only creating our own furniture. Over the years we have worked with clients and companies world wide to bring their ideas to life. We can help you come up with the best design to meet your needs.
Semigood Design is an American furniture and graphic design company started and run by Thom Jones and Brendan Callahan. After years of bouncing ideas off one another at Parsons School of Design, we decided to continue the collaboration and form a multidisciplinary studio that focuses on furniture design, graphic design, and the projects that happen when the two disciplines overlap. We launched our company at the BKLYNDesigns show in 2005 and placed best of show. Continuing with that momentum, we have designed and handcrafted four furniture collections and have worked on projects for Elie Tahari, Richard Neutra’s Kaufman House, the Albert Frey 1 House, The Conan O’Brien Show, and Dwell Magazine. In 2010 our work was honored in the California Design Biennial at the Pasadena Museum of California Art.
Our Approach: We design and hand make each piece of furniture to order in our shop. Because of this, we have the ability to work closely with our clients and offer a myriad of customizations. Our pride stands in our combined commitment to bold and functional hand-crafted furniture and the sustainability that matches our products. We have put our diverse talents to the test to find the most nascent, functional materials to create furniture that lives. Our wood is FSC-certified, and we use proximate supplies to conserve and to minimize the toxic effects of transportation. Our goal is to separate our work from the rest of the uninspired pack, evidenced by our decision not to pick a predictable, standard issue name. This unique moniker is a reflection of our personalities. Rather than a description of our product, Semigood is an indication of our priorities. We take craftsmanship seriously, not ourselves.
