Sen Sushi Bar

This is by far the best sushi restaurant in the Oak Park area. Their maki rolls taste fresh and are well prepared. The service was wonderful and our server was very attentive. Make sure to order the green tea creme brûlée for dessert - it’s the perfect way to top off your meal!Food: 5/5

I don’t know why I did not review this place sooner! It is by far my favorite restaurant in the Oak Park area, and one of the only ones I am a regular! The coziness of the place is charming, only a few tables plus the sushi bar, and then the food… another level. There is no better sushi in the area and I would debate if there’s better sushi even in Chicago. Ingredients are fresh and quality is insane. On top of it, service is awesome and they always have a smile and are ready for you, but without rushing you at the same time. Simply amazing! I’ll keep coming forever I guess

Had a lovely little date night with the husband here for dinner. The food was so good and really fresh! The staff was very attentive and friendly, even with how busy they were with other guests and take out orders. I give them all the props! We'll definitely be back!Food: 5/5

Delicious sushi. Very fresh fish. We also ordered miso soup and iced green tea. It's amazing. Good service, very friendly. This place is very small so it might be difficult to find seating for large groups. Great for date night. Chicago roll was the best. Parking: Street parking.

If you like sushi, you should visit this establishment. There are plenty of our famously large and tasty buns. Every roll has a significant amount of fish, unlike some restaurants where you only get rice. The room is rather small. I'd say there's room for roughly 30 people, including at the sushi bar. If you show up on a Saturday around five, there won't be a wait. If you arrive any later, there may be a lengthy wait. There is no waiting area, and reservations are not accepted. Because there are so many sushi chefs working there when you get there, you can order your rolls immediately. While it's not necessary to stick around there in order to enjoy fantastic sushi, you might feel driven to.

Great menu selection and great service. Quite a small space, so you may or may not get a table depending on dinner rush.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box with an additional spicy shrimp roll for takeout and it was very tasty. The real surprise was the miso soup. I don't like miso soup but this one had the perfect ingredients and the tofu had a great texture. I ate the whole thing while it was hot. I think the dipping sauces could have been tangier. It tasted a lot like plain hoisin sauce to me and I am not sure what the lighter sauce was. If it were sweet and sour, it also could have been customized. This plate is pricey enough not to have the sauces lack creativity. The choice of what I assume to be a peanut ginger dressing for the side salad was interesting but I ate it. The atmosphere was nice, and the restaurant was packed while I waited for my food. The service was standard. Overall I would come back.

AMAZING! A cozy, casual hole in the wall with a breath of modest elegance. All dishes are made fresh to order. Friendly staff make you feel welcome. For those of you with a love for sushi, I highly recommend SEN Sushi Bar. If you are feeling adventurous, then I recommend requesting Chef’s choice. We did, and he prepared us a dish not available on their otherwise robust menu.
