SENTIENT is a New York City based furniture design and fabrication company with more than 25,000 square feet of workshop facilities in Brooklyn. We have extensive experience manufacturing residential, commercial and hospitality furnishings including case goods and accent items. We have supplied furniture to the New York City area for decades and also foreign markets including Canada, United Kingdom and The Middle East.
The philosophy of SENTIENT Furniture is found in the name. The word ‘sentient’ is defined as ‘the power of perception’, ‘by sensation and consciousness’. In one way or another our intention is to reach or alert our customers consciousness. We want our designs and products to be questioning, curious, interesting and maybe even to provoke rejection. If a customer or observer comments, questions or asks for more information we have succeeded.
