Reviews
Overwhelmingly bad reviews regarding the customer service at this Sephora Inside JCPenny, even going back over a year. Really makes one wonder why management has done nothing to address this because it’s not just a small handful of people taking time to relate how bad the service is, the majority is highly negative. Perhaps management can’t be bothered or simply doesn’t care about their customers. The atmosphere here is alienating, unfriendly and off-putting. When I feel I have to apologize for asking a product question, when I am not thanked after spending $ 200 and when I have to wait for two employees to finish their chit chat before letting them know I’m ready to check out, there are serious problems. After repeatedly having various negative shopping experiences, to the point I’ve left the store in a downright down/bad mood, I’ve vowed never again to step foot in the Woodland Mall Sephora. There are many alternate choices to buy beauty products, this particular store’s attitude has ensured it will never again receive one penny from me.
Customer service was horrible. I received a marketing promotion in the mail for a free mini makeover. Upon entering the store I advised one of the associates that I wanted to try the free mini makeover and that I was only looking to try out a new concear/foundation. The associate was extremely impatient and didn't seem to know much about the products, I felt as if I was bothering her as she was not helpful at all. I left the store didn't buy anything and walked on over to MAC in Macy's- Woodland Mall and was treated wonderfully there. I purchased several items from MAC instead- the customer service was so much better than Sephora's customer service.
I came in today with a few friends and was sampling some of the eyeliner and some refreshing spray. First when I was sampling the eyeliner she came and yelled at all my friends for “playing” with her products. Then I was trying some coconut spray and she was standing behind me and I turned and said hi and she said hi in a strange tone and i said I really like the spray it’s really refreshing and she said I see that. This was not the first time I’ve had a problem with this lady. As I was reading other reviews they all seemed to line up to this same woman. A hint of advice for her; don’t be rude to customers if you wanna get sales.
I am not one to write reviews or to complain about a business, but after my experience today at Sephora I feel it’s necessary. I came to the store today looking for a new foundation. First of all, I was not greeted when I entered the store, the girls almost avoided me. When I went up to ask for recommendations of foundations, the girl seemed annoyed. She showed me a few and walked away. Then her and the other emoployee started to do one another’s hair and make up, ignoring me. Mind you I was one of maybe 3 customers in the store. I finally asked if the color of foundation I chose seemed to match my skin tone and the girl simply replied with ya. I have no idea why I gave them business, but I will never be returning there. It’s not difficult to assist your customers with make up when that is literally your job. Never been so disappointed in poor customer service. I would definitely recommend never going to this Sephora if you have questions, or need any sort of help choosing a new form of make up!
I’ve been debating writing this review for about a year, every time I go into this Sephora I am just extremely disappointed. The people there avoid you unless they know you, they offer little to no help. I wondered around that store tonight for probably 45 mins and was talked to by an employee twice, once when I searched for one and the other at the check out. I watched an employee apply a full face of make up in the time I was there. Not only are they beyond rude and unhelpful they literally never have anything in stock. I had a list of this I wanted to look at/swatch and they didn’t have a single one in stock. The girl at the checkout was beyond rude, I counted how many times she rolled her eyes at me, four time but the way. I love Sephora, I will always shop at a Sephora but I will drive the extra 20 mins to go to the one in Rivertown.
I have never written a bad review but felt like I needed to this time. Customer service was horrible she was arguing with me about a product that was on sale but wouldn't give me the sale price because not all things online are for sale in the store but it clearly stated online it was and their was a sign in the store but it expired June 4. She finally asked her manager and the manager gave it to me. She never apologized for being wrong.
The customer service employees have terrible energy. They just seem so unkind without saying much. I came in today to get my birthday present and I gave them the correct email at first. But the bad vibes customer rep, let’s call her bad vibes Brittany, was like they don’t need the full email with the @ part. Anyways I’m standing there confused because now the email isn’t working because it isn’t a regular gmail account but a school email account and she needs the whole freaking address with the @. She tells me to go outside of the mall to use the WiFi and of course my brain is on autopilot so I don’t resist. I want to tell her I’m not using wifi but I don’t bother. I go out, don’t even go outside of jc penny and go through my email to see all the Sephora emails I have. Btw I even have the app, but the darn thing wouldn’t let log in for some odd reason. Anyways I come back and her vibe totally changed. I show her the emails I get from Sephora and for some reason it’s like she automatically then believes me or something. Her body becomes more receptive and I can feel her allowing me to give her my full email without her saying a word, the one that I was going to give her in the first place before she told me not to use the whole @ I give her the full email and of course it works. It’s just altogether nasty, negative vibes man. It’s weird because I don’t remember them being this rude with their nonverbals. But I’ve read the other reviews and people feel what I felt. We’re just saying it differently. Also the Mexican food place at the mall is super stingy. You can literally count the rice and beans they give you. It’s not worth it at all. Woodland Mall sucks
Most awful experience ever, I am taking private makeup lessons and decided to invest heavily in brand new makeup. Decided to go to Sephora to get the list of items the MUA sent me... got there and the girls asked everyone except me if they could help. I walked around looking for the last few items on my list, i was the only customer and still the 2 girls went past me more than twice and still no help.. I asked for help and she was like, no I don't have this sorry bye! The I saw them doing each other makeup.. that's when I decided to drop the bag with product worth more than $ 150 dlls.. and left.
Hard to get help. Makeup is expensive and trying to get help is a time consuming process. When you finally do, its a pretty quick exchange. I like this store - and its not as busy as the lone location, but I've walked out multiple times because of not receiving help in a timely manner - like 15-20 minutes.
If you don't want to help people then don't work there. Why is every representative at this Sephora so rude! I dont get it. I'm sorry we interrupted your conversation with your co-worker. JCPenney and Sephora should do something about this. They should just close this Sephora location.
