I always look forward to my birthday treat my mom gets me from Serpe's. I can only speak for the cupcakes and cakes. I enjoy a classic vanilla with vanilla frosting only vanilla with chocolate frosting. It's sweet without being overly sweet and always moist. I can say she also tried a giant sugar cookie this time and we weren't a fan, it was too hard without much flavor.

Overpriced!  I purchased one of their pepperoni/cheese rolls.  Paid $8.50 for mostly bread.  Little to none cheese and pepperoni was inside the roll.  In fact, I had to add my own additional cheese and pepperoni to the roll at home.   In this case, you would be wise to simply just order a pepperoni/cheese pizza from your local pizza shop.  Their peanut rolls were priced at .60 each and you can see by the picture that the rolls are disproportionate to each other.  Again, I found these to be overrated and tasteless for an Italian bakery.  Their tomato pie was excellent!  The two stars is for the tomato pie.

Awesome mom and pop place with a huge selection.  A lot of restaurants in the area use their bread.  Italian and rye bread is excellent.  Need to get my hands on a t-shirt!

We live in MD and drove an hour to get to Serpe & Sons.  WELL WORTH THE DRIVE!  We're originally from NY, and miss the high quality Italian Pastries we got there. I've had a craving for authentic, traditional Napoleon, so we thought we'd try Serpe & Sons.  The Napoleon was incredible!  Brought us back to our childhood!  The cream had the perfect texture and sweetness, with beautifully crafted phyllo dough layers, and the vanilla royal icing with chocolate drizzled on top was phenomenal. My mouth is watering just remembering the taste.  We didn't stop with just ordering Napoleon!  We had a sausage loaf which we loved.  Similar to a Stromboli, but the sausage was crumbled, and the cheese was creamy and delicious.  I tasted it cold first, and I really liked it!  But it's exponentially better heated. SO good.  We had little bite-size pies/tarts pictured.  DELICIOUS!  We tried key lime, apple, and cherry.  Each was as good as the next.  We weren't fans of the mini cannoli,, but to be honest, we didn't expect to.  They're pre-filled, and the cannot shell gets soft.  But the cream was delicious.  The cream puffs were great, as were the cream-filled clams!  We'll surely be back!!a. You've got to try this place!

I had an order I placed on Friday at 3:25PM for pick up Sunday 3:33PM as a surprise for my father who lives in Wilmington, we get my father and drive to get his order to find out they don’t have it, just an empty box. Extremely disappointing for us, I did receive a credit but that doesn’t really fix the experience.

Let's say there are pluses and minuses in everyone! Been coming to this place for years!!! Every event! Decide to have a cheese steak party today! Granted I live in pa 45min one way! I call ask if they still have rolls left, yes can you put me a dozen aside! Yes coming right now! Get there this woman starts talking down to me in front of everyone who took your order these should not be bagged you do everyone will! Well if it was not my mother that loves there Pastie I would never go in there again! No one should be treated that way no one

Nice, family owned bakery. Good confections, tomato pie, and Italian specialty items. Steak rolls are very good.

For years I have been going to Serpes, even on Christmas Eve I would stay in line in 7 degree weather for 2 hours as a loyal customer. No more! The manager taking the cake orders is so rude and argumentative. It’s either Hanna or Andrea, not completely sure. Last week my spouse went into the store to order a cake for our child’s birthday party. We selected a graphic including my child’s picture, filling and icing. A few days late I picked up the cake up and it was all white and plain and the graphic was a tiny square. My child’s pic was so blurry. I live close so I took the cake home to show my spouse. My spouse called Serpes and spoke to the same rude woman who took the order. My spouse asked why the graphic didn’t cover the entire sheet cake like they discussed. The employee said she told her the image only works on a quarter sheet. She also said I loved the cake. Those two things were never said. She straight up lied about both statements. Then my spouse brought up the blurry picture, which the manager got upset and accused my spouse of making up new issues. With an attitude said she would have to scrape the icing off to fix it and wouldn’t be guaranteed to be ready the same day. The employee yelled at my spouse and said “We’ll what do you want me to do?” I called and said I would just accept the cake as is but would like a refund. She yelled and said it doesn’t work like that and I would need to return the cake to get a refund. I then proceeded to tell her about the stale cookies I bought, said some “nice” words to her and hung up. Later that day when we cut into the cake at the party the strawberry filling literally fell out. The icing was so thick and the cake very sloppily put together. We’ve never been treated this way before by Serpes. If it’s one of the managers, they appear to be a real problem. I understand things happen, but you don’t treat customers this way. I will never come here again. Other reviews appear to be having similar issues with customer service. What happened to Serpes?

We have been loyal customers for many, many years but will never be coming back after this experience. We are completely disgusted. My friend ordered us a tomato pie a few days ago. When we got home, we noticed the outside of the box appeared chewed, likely by a mouse. We thought nothing of it as we've trusted Serpes for a long time and assured ourselves it was simply just a tear. After eating about half the pie, we noticed mouse droppings inside the box under the pizza! It's completely unacceptable and a health hazard! Mouse droppings have also been seen on the ground near the line.

I can't begin to explain the horrible pie I bought..it was 21 dollars inside was a very sticky red substance..the cherries were so sour that my toes curled up and still can't straighten them..the piece of cake was so stale it was actually hard as a rock..my friends and I drove from Dover,and we all purchased different items..and we all are seniors..and what we all bought went to the trash..so disappointed. And people need to know about this,wish I didn't waste my money on those products and all the gas I wasted ..
