Seton Medical Center, a 357-bed facility, offers San Francisco and San Mateo County inpatient & outpatient medical specialties, as well as emergency and urgent care services.
History
On July 2, 1912, the Daughters of Charity opened Mary's Help Hospital on Guerrero Street in San Francisco. In 1965, they opened a new, larger hospital in Daly City to accommodate a growing patient population. Eventually, they changed the name to Seton Medical Center in honor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the American foundress of the Daughters of Charity and the first American-born canonized saint.
