Severn Elementary School

Both of my kids went to Severn Elementary. There is very low teacher turnover and the school environment is generally friendly and supportive. The educational fundamentals are covered, although I don't think either of my kids were fully challenged to the best of their abilities. This community elementary school draws students of all socioeconomic backgrounds and level of parental engagement. Our kids witnessed some behavioral problems with other kids in one memorable incident, a student pushed another student down the stairs but for the most part these situations were handled quickly and appropriately by the staff. I never had a problem getting in touch with teachers or other staff to discuss and resolve problems. All in all, the school prepared my kids for the next step in their education and the friendships they formed there have lasted into middle and high school.

Wonderful NEW Principal this year... He "high-fives" every student who comes in during bus drop off time. Teacher and Principal communications are done weekly through email and sometimes a recorded phone call as well. Office staff seem to know all of the students, and the Nurse is very caring. Lots of social and community activities. Only negative: The playground is very open and could pose a safety risk for random cars coming into the parking lot, but I will bring my concern to their attention. VERY happy that I have a student attending Severn Elementary!

WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL. MY HUSBANDS FAMILY HAS WENT THERE FOR 3 GENERATIONS AND IT JUST CONTINUES TO IMPROVE!!

The principal , is unprofessional , she more concerned about her Title than the children education.

It is a great school and the counselor is nice.

They keep the grounds looking nice. No clue anything else about it.
