I brought my husband into the ER who is a cancer patient.Itvwas bad enough it took over 2hrs to be taken back then another 20min in room. He had a chemo pump in him he accidentally ripped out. The head ER nurse and Co worker had no idea what to do. No idea who to ask. They didn't even clean up the area he ripped open. Never ever will we come back
I went to the ER today and I am just so happy right now because of the experience I had. I came in with a very serious laceration and I was mentally not prepared to get stitches. Everyone here was so friendly, encouraging, and supportive. That ER is full of angels. From the moment I stepped in the door, the wonderful woman at the front greeted me, helped me calm down, and got me in the back quickly. The X-ray staff was really encouraging and supportive. They gave me a blanket and ensured me that I can do this. Benjamin, my doctor, was so patient as I screamed and cried from the pain and trauma. He made me feel safe. An assistant caretaker came in and talked me through the whole process, keeping me distracted and giving me the courage to get the treatment over with . When it was all said and done, I just felt like family had worked on me. They are truly fantastic heros.
My stay was miserable, I was at the mercy of the most miserable nurses ever! They don't smile, talk, aren't friendly at all and act like you are bothering them. They have no sense of urgency when getting to you and complain because there were 13 other patients on their floor! Such a horrible nursing staff, from the very first one I ran into while asking for directions to the outpatient department - never again and I will never recommend this place. No problem with my doctor just a problem with the facility. Joanne was the only one worth talking to and the only one willing to help but she's only 3 years new so I'm sure that'll change.
Daylight shift nurse's and nurse's aides are really excellent with their patients..caring, understanding..3-11 shift are rude and when I needed something like it was such a bother to them ..don't smile not friendly at all..And On the other hand Sewickley and Beaver Heritage Valley hospital are very dirty.. unsanatery..I couldn't believe my eyes to see how dirty my husband's room was. Bathroom.. shower and sink toilet..whole bathroom just gross nothing was clean..Would never recommend this hospital due to the overall cleanliness.
If your job is to help and care for people, maybe the nurses there need to learn how to do that. You wait there all night while there’s multiple nurses out front gathering and gossiping so loud, you can hear their conversations in the rooms with the doors shut. I could take care of someone better with my eyes closed. All they do is guess and say well maybe. They do not listen to the patients considers. Oh and by the way, if you are not able to swallow or take liquids, don’t ask for an IV. They refuse to give you one. Most incompetent, rude staffing/nurses doctors I have ever encountered in my life. Just absolutely horrible!
Sewickley Valley Hospital. ‍ Where do you go into the ER as an oxygen patient on a portable oxygen machine with breathing issues get a breathing treatment and they neglect to reconnect you back to the oxygen after the treatment? I’m like… I can’t breathe. I had to fixed it myself. What hospital sends a patient home with Stage 4 COPD and a diagnosis of Bronchitis? Felt like my health and best interest was not a priority. I’ve been admitted for less sever symptoms. Seemed like a get em in get em out thing. Laid my discharge papers on the bed with no real explanations and left. Never saw the attending physician after the breathing treatment. Poor quality care at its best. Nurse didn’t close IV tubing properly so my blood was dripping from tube onto sheets. Bad and concerning experience at the least.
I was a patient on the ortho unit last month. Everyone from housekeeping, dietary and of course the nurses were superb. The nurse aids Robin and Beth were very caring and helpful. My nurses Gianna, and Candi were the best nurses I've ever had. I will always go to this hospital.
If you’re looking for a hospital that also doubles as a circus then this is the one for you. From my initial pregnancy ultrasound being coded wrong, expired tubes of blood given resulting in a retake and a 23 week ultrasound with the tech Michelle who flat out said “is there something wrong with your uterus” it’s not a wonder why this hospital is closing its maternity ward. Took 3 weeks to get a call back from a supervisor all to be told that my feedback can make someone else experience better and that my awful experience that ended in leaving the hospital in tears is a learning experience for an ultrasound tech.
We came in with my pregnant wife. She had dangerous cardiac problems. They went to work on her asap. We started at 6pm and had the issue under control by 10. Great work thank you so much
Went in to the ER with symptoms of achiness, fever of 104, chills / sweats.... all common with having Lyme Disease, and the staff never thought to test me for LYME. Their fix was a cold IV to lower my temperature, and administer a pill and send me on my way. I am outdoors often in the summer either mountain biking, or hiking and it never dawned on them to check for LYME. Their diagnosis was that I had the flu. They are understaffed and inexperienced to run an ER department.
