SF SPCA had been the vet of our little Shiba for almost 2 years and they are just awesome. The staff is super careful and pay attention to your pets. The health of your pet comes first. Last time we went they spent an hour to make sure our dog was fear free to get her shots. Price is also to be considered, they are way less expensive than other vet which can’t be as trusted as SF SPCA. If you’re looking for a vet, do not hesitate.

It ended up costing way more than I was expecting, but all in all was a good experience. They were great with my dog and very understanding of her and what we needed.  Anthony Rodriguez, the very tech, was super awesome and even added up everything before we received services, so we knew what we could get and what we could not.  Also very knowledgeable and made us aware of what reactions my dog could face after receiving shots.

This review is for our experience from November 2021 to February 2022.  Overall, it was a pretty bad experience here for my dog, Monte, and I. I came here upon recommendation of a few friends when I moved to San Francisco, but I ultimately went back to my old vet in Fremont. If you’re just looking for a place to take your dog at an affordable rate, I guess this would be it. Two stars instead of one because it is affordable compared to most vets in SF, and the facilities were big, lots of space.  The appointments felt very rushed and the vets and techs could never answer my questions clearly, there was always uncertainty. Two particular bad experiences were;  1 a tech attempted to draw blood from my dog’s leg, she stopped suddenly after poking the needle into his leg, got up and said she couldn’t do it, she needed to get someone else. My dog was already anxious by her being so anxious with him. 2 a vet claimed my dog had many broken teeth and he needed dental surgery immediately. She brushed off my questions and handed me a brochure. It was after this appointment that I went back to my old vet, who said Monte’s teeth were fine.

Great place to meet you newest family member and donate.  You will feel love all around you.

Just had my kitty spayed there a couple of days ago. They are all fantastic! What I experienced personally was gentle, caring staff to ease my concerns. My baby was happy after the procedure and she was anxious to get out of her carrying case but was totally fine. Her same rambunctious self. I also witness the most gentle care with other pets that seem to be recovering from the hospital. Truly wonderful experience. Thank you so very much for all you do for our furry family

SF SPCA is the best place if you have a pet you love.  We brought our cat there because another cat big my babies ear and it got infected.  When we picked up or Simease Linx cat he was brand new.  His ear was cleaned out, atibodics and ointment with a a mild pain medicine.  My kitten is all healed now and I want to thank everyone there so much and let you all know you are Awesome. Used to be a fantastic place until somehow the place lot tis plot. Must also be the issue of getting the right people to run the place. Volunteers are scarce to find too, these days.  All in all a nice place and yet for someone who's seen the place through the years, things seem to have changed quite a bit

2021: I adopted my kitten see photos of her here here 7 years ago.  She had an ailment that the vet. here took care of well. She's been a wonderful pet!  Always get your pets at adoption centers like the SFSPCA.  Save a life or 2.

Took my Princess to get a quote on dental. The place is wonderful and very friendly. Unfortunately, the price is about the same, and I will go into debt for my little dogs sake.

This isn't just for SPCA but they are the ones that advertise walk ins .....I am having a major issue with the fact that there is no walk in clinic and that it is appointment only. If anyone has ever lived with a large , bonded cat  they may know how hard it is to get them in carrier. I keep making appointments but when the time comes if I somehow loose my grip on my cat and can't get him in the carrier he ends up disappearing for 6 hours. I end up missing the appointment and getting charged $50. Meanwhile my cat is still sick. If spca doesn't have walk in urgent care they need to take it off their site.   "Call ahead" means make appointment which from past experience that dosn't work for my cat.  For being in a city I amprised how little help there is for me and my cat. I would be better off in Millbrae or the East Bay.
