I was raised by an avid junker which means my whole childhood was riddled with browsing antique malls and rummaging flea markets. My whole life I've watched my mom transform seemingly worthless and worn-out pieces of furniture into brilliant, new masterpieces. I'd watch her from the sideline and then sometimes be inspired to create my own little piece, but for the recent past I've been too busy with teaching and coaching middle school and raising my 2 little babies (Jay-4 and Natalie-2) to do much creating on my own. Then my mom started selling a new specialty paint line, FUSION MINERAL PAINT. Over a spring break week, I painted 13 pieces of furniture in my home...all during nap times each day...to completely update my kitchen and living room! I was hooked! If a mom of 2 little ones on a budget could make my home a better reflection of my heart...to be cute, cozy, and welcoming...then other moms need to know that this is possible for them, too! So I resigned from teaching/coaching and started my own little business...Shabby Hospitality!
