I came into this store after searching for a dog in many other stores. Every other store I went to the dogs were sick or were not interacting at all. But when I went to shake a paw, the dogs were in perfect health and they also offer a years guarantee on their dogs, they were so playful and every dog I looked at bonded well with me. Afreen was helping us with our dog search and she knew a lot about each breed and helped pick out a perfect dog for our family. Definitely a great place to go to for an adorable healthy puppy
I’ve been to shake a paw a few times and found it to be a first rate pet store. Each time I had the pleasure of speaking to Dominick. He was so knowledgeable about the puppies and dogs in general. Dominick provided useful information about nutrition, and how to care for dogs and was very kind to the animals in the store. The puppies seemed very happy and their space was super clean.
I came to the Hicksville store looking to purchase a puppy, and was amazed not only by the selection of different breeds of dogs, but how clean the store was and how happy and healthy the puppies were. Dominick was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable and patient. You can tell that the employees take pride in their work. I highly recommend!
This store has everything my sensitive tummy dog needs, and it’s where she gets all her favorite, most durable toys! We were helped by Dominick, who cares so much about the individual needs of your fur babies. He helped us figure out that switching to putting freeze dried rabbit Stella and chewies on top of our girl’s dinner helped rebuild her appetite without upsetting her stomach. All around great store with ever better customer service!
Wide variety of foods for our puppy Stella and chewy which was very hard to find except online . We bought our puppy at your Lynbrook store. Wonderful staff in both stores.
I came into the Hicksville location to see the puppies and the staff was very accommodating. Our sales person Dominick was really patient and knowledgeable. He showed us several puppies that would fit well with our family. We really enjoyed our experience with Dominick.
This place is an absolute nightmare for anyone who wants to buy a pet. The bunnies are with Guinea pigs which is dangerous for the Guinea pigs. The puppies are all tired and look sick. This place has had a terrible reputation with sick dogs for a very long time. The bunnies are also in literally small tanks. Everything is overpriced. Avoid this place at all costs!! Adopt don’t shop.
I purchased the cutest puppy! Our salesperson Dominick was amazing and very helpful. He took his time and made sure we were taking home the perfect puppy for our family.
We bought our Bichon Frise in May 2017. He did have some pesky puppy issues giardia, very common in puppies from all places including breeders & animal shelters. We took him to the vet that was recommended by shake a paw at the time and all of his treatments were covered. Nearly 6 years later now and he has had zero health problems since. He’s a healthy, happy, lovable, and incredibly smart dog. He’s also a great example of the breed. Super happy with Shake a paw. Thank you for helping us find our best friend.
