I have been involved in health care since becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1988. While working weekends, and sometimes during the week, I continued my education and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1991. After spending some time working in the emergency department, the ICU, and with the local EMS, I decided to go to medical school. I obtained my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in 2000 and completed residency in Internal Medicine in 2003. My primary experience is Hospital Medicine.
During my years as a Hospitalist, I noticed that people were getting sicker, there were more autoimmune diseases, people were on increasing numbers of medications, and there were more psychiatric issues, like depression. Despite all the wonderful advances in medicine, I felt like I was spinning my wheels. People were not getting any better, any healthier. There had to be something else.
I have always been interested in energy medicine. I thought of osteopathy as a form of energy work, although it is not described in that way. I began a long period of research and self study, which led me down the path of my own journey of healing. Eventually, I discovered Dr. Alberto Villoldo, founder of The Four Winds Society. I completed the Four Winds program in 2016 and have been offering Shamanic Energy Healing ever since.
