Shannon is offering Shiatsu and Craniosacral sessions at Conshohocken Community Acupuncture. Sessions can be scheduled on-line by going www.gotyourback.com and clicking on the link for the clinic in the middle of the page. The center is located 521 E. Hector Street Conshohocken, PA, 19428 and can be reached at 610.834.3992. The first appointment is $50.00 and 1 hour is blocked out to include time for consultation and 30-35 minutes of treatment time. Each treatment after that is $35.00 for 1/2 an hour or $70.00 for 1 hour. These prices are based on a community environment in a large open room, with screens providing moderate privacy while other people around are also receiving their acupuncture or bodywork. If a more private setting is required they contact the clinic for information and availability.
Shannon received her training in Shiatsu more than 20 years ago and studied at the prestigious Ohashi Institute in New York. Shiatsu is a Japanese style of bodywork based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine and is a wonderful compliment to acupuncture. The practitioner uses pressure and gentle stretching to encourage chi (life force) to flow evenly throughout the body. Chi can become blocked for a variety of reasons such as injury, stress or life changes. Bringing balance to the body’s energy can help reduce stress and restore a sense of wellbeing. Shannon also uses CranioSacral Therapy as a compliment to her work. CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tension deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction.
