My time here was very nice and I was in and out. I valued that how I was treated and if I ever do go back I hope my values and kindness will be the same from before. I highly recommend coming here. Very clean and lovely nurses
I have a few medical issues aswell as frequent migraines and on rare occasions they are so bad or last so long I need to go to the ER.There are several hospitals all over San Diego County but I ALWAYS go to Sharp Grossmont wether I wait a few minutes or a couple hours 9/10 times I'll have a great nurse or nurses, and the KINDEST Drs. trying to figure out what brought me in and listen to my complaints and concerns as much as possible with the obviously limited time they have to see patients. I feel for the medical staff doing their best to provide the best care possible. They can't all be perfect but at Grossmont they usually are. Tonight was rough we had to wait hours to get the Radiology reports read. Many medical staff had to edure impatient patients and concerned family members waiting for those results to come back. It literally took hours, Dr told me scans were in but we had to wait for "the Radiologist" single not plural I took it to read and send report before I knew what was going on with me. I finally got discharged but it was a looonggg night for patients and staff all things considered they took care of me well.
I was taken care of so quickly. Everyone on staff was professional, genuine, and cared. Every stagevFrom being checked in to the DR, the nurses, X-ray tech, everyone impressed me. My partner even said WOW this staff is amazing. Thank you for being kind and caring. It made my experience seemless.
I had a positive experience at the Sharp Hospital Emergency department despite my circumstances. I was admitted promptly and the staff were super friendly! My presenting problem was resolved immediately after thorough care.
Save your life and go somewhere else! I am an employee of sharp and I was treated like a white trash heroin addict. This was my second visit this month and both times were the same. They make up their own rules like they answer to no one. The staff was playing around taking personal phone calls there were four people at the inspection gate and only two of them were working when I asked for my labs I was told I could not have them unless reviewed by a doctor first which is a lie it is my right to have them! When someone is ill they need a family member with them they can't think straight and they're in pain and they're hurting and they're alone and scared I felt like I was in a lockdown unit for murderers. When I asked for a pillow this guy at the desk told me I'm not clinical if I give you a pillow it may mess up your back and I'll be held accountable I said then ask a nurse please! After I asked him to ask a nurse he continued to play on his phone and take a personal phone call when I confronted him about it he showed me some book I don't know what that meant. The staff needs to be more friendly courteous and empathetic to the people in their waiting room not everyone is white trash or a heroin addict.
First of all, some people are allowed to bring a loved one in spouse for example and others can't. Doesn't make sense no they didn't look worse off than anyone else. I explained all of my symptoms and mentioned that one of them has been on going for 2 weeks and it was ignored. I watched a woman leave AMA and heard the doctor tell her that they should have done better, that they dropped the ball etc. I don't know why I am still sitting here. Now here is another guy wanting to leave AMA because he's been here for hours on end. Edit: After sitting there for almost 5 hours after being told they would get me ibuprofen and never receiving it, I told them I was leaving. I'd avoid this ER.
I came to Grossmont on 5/27 & into 5/28 after being attacked by my very large cat & I have cancer. I received EXCELLENT care. I was seen by Dr Hein, probably the most caring & professional Dr I've ever had the privilege of meeting. Nurses & the rest of the staff was awesome as well. When I was admitted in 2016 this hospital saved my life & I would recommend this hospital to anyone. I don't like having to have my purse searched ect but I'm sure they have their reasons for it & I understand. Thank you once again Grossmont for helping me & I do appreciate all of you.
TL;DL: Emergency room separates patients from their support person, gives the support person minimal information while they have to wait outside, nurses gaslight support people when they become upset, discharges patients without proper care and follow up, and “patient relations” couldn’t be bothered to hear concerns. Took my husband to this ER on a Sunday because it is close to home. He suffers from a chronic condition, which we told the nurses about at check in. Nurses took him back into the ER and told me that as soon as he was assigned a bed, I could go back with him. While my husband is ill with this condition, he is unable to advocate for himself or keep me informed of what is going on due to pain. After 2 hours of being patient, I asked concierge what his status was. Come to find out, the hospital made the decision to send my husband through “accelerated care” which meant he would not be assigned a bed, would bounce between a “cubby” where the doctor spoke to him and the lobby, and that I would not be allowed to go inside. I expressed concerns with this, letting them know that my husband was incapable of advocating for himself and probably had no idea what was being done to treat him. Concierge was unable to give me any information about his treatment and directed me to call the nurses inside. Same thing. Nurses would not give me information over the phone and seemed incredibly annoyed that I called. This cycle repeated for 8 hours. EIGHT HOURS. Finally I approached the check in station and demanded to see my husband. Nurse at the check in station went inside and MADE MY HUSBAND CALL ME TO TELL ME TO CALM DOWN. Nurse came back to the station while I was on the phone with him and proceeded to gossip about me with her coworkers behind the counter. When I continued to be upset, the same nurse tried to gaslight me by telling me “eight hours really isn’t that long.” Shortly after I had to get rude with the nurse, they discharged my husband, making him walk out of the front entrance when he was still in pain and couldn’t not walk straight. Discharge paperwork contained ZERO information on his treatment while he was there, or what medications he received. All we had was a list of generic instructions for care, a list of tests without results, and two prescriptions which were sent to the incorrect pharmacy. He ended up back in the ER at a different hospital a day later. I contacted patient relations while I was waiting at the hospital and left a voice mail. They called me back the following day, and I was unable to take the call. I called back and left a second voice mail…. No call back. Called a third time a few days later and left another voice mail. I have not heard back since and it’s been over a week since my husband was in their ER.
Only good thing I was put in a room right away. However, I was not attended to for an hour as I cry in pain. I was never given a CT scan, MRI not even an X ray. I had to demand labs to check my thyroid. Was never given the results just told they were fine. You just don't lose 15lbs for no reason, and then start to gain weight again. I was not listened to and also told they don't do MRI! I was only given and shot and I think a prescription for one day. I came in with severe pain all over my body. I explained this to everyone I came in contact with and yet nothing was even done. If I wanted to waist 5 hours of my life to get high,I could've done that at home. I'm still in pain. Worst visit. Will do my best to NEVER come back.
Evan Scott, Brittany Gardener, Patricia A. Fortin. Lawyer Evan. My last review. I gave you all too many chances. BTW did you guys realize you just copied Starbucks’ philosophy statement? Thanks for not giving me credit… you should really give credit to Starbucks. That’s embarrassing. Stay away from me and my family. I will no longer be accepting random phone numbers. Patricia did admit to me that I was still supposed to be under observation. I am also severely blind without my glasses, and yes, I was not wearing my glasses when your staff put my life in danger. I hope that guy gets fired for being so careless. I was the first person in my family to finish high school, and I am doing a bachelor’s degree in family and human development with a 4.0 GPA. Now I have to focus on retaking my class. I also just got employee of the month. I am an active member of my community and a beloved barista with my customers and co-workers. Are you aware of the word… customer connections? Probably not. I am in the process of moving, changing my phone number, and changing my mailing address. The cops are well aware of your names. I can not afford a lawyer and do a civil lawsuit because I am low-income… so I will have to do the next best thing and talk to reporters and detectives. Sad because I did offer to sign a NDA, but it's too late. I’m unsure when I will do this because I am still recovering at home. I gave you all too many chances, and you all took advantage of my kindness. So now I will have to escalate things and contact California Malpractice Team. Thanks! - You should already know my name : P.S. The only thing I asked for was an apology from the CEO. Too bad I have to go to reporters now. : Are you guys aware of Instagram… Daygo TV? You should get familiar with it! Maybe I should also contact the California LAW department as well. :
