I should have seen the horrible reviews before coming to this place. I had my insurance retrod affective the first of the month and it was approved and the insurance wanted to fax the office a proof of coverage and eligibility letter so I could be seen. I had an appointment and when I got there, the lady in the front OB office JESSICA would not accept a fax of proof of coverage and only wanted it to be seen in the portal. The portal takes a few days to update. The system is slow. So she turned me away and would not allow me to be seen even though I had coverage. She was super rude to me and then I noticed she cancelled all my upcoming appointments with the medical group! How is that ok to cancel someone's appointments without approval? Wow this lady hates her life and job and takes it out on everyone else!
Been coming here since 2002 and it's got to be the best healthcare around. There's always going to be glitches but from long term association, the care is the best from Urgent care, Primary Care, specialties and Occ Med. I've used all and never had a negative experience.
Called to schedule an appointment at Occupational Health for pre-employment screening and was told my appointment was at 830. I showed up at 825 to check in and was quickly processed through due to compeleting my paperwork before arriving, only to be told that my appointment wasnt until 9 and they told me 830 on the phone to ensure I had time to complete the paperwork before my appointment. So here I am sitting in the waiting room, waiting to see if the can possibly squeeze me in “early”. Complete lack of respect for other peoples time or commitments. 30 minutes of my day I cant get back listening to receptionist gossip, great.
The OBGYN office in grossmont is terrible. I’m an expectant mother, with a history of miscarriage. They scheduled my first prenatal appointment at my 10 week mark, and I urged them to see me sooner. They never return voicemails. They have treated me as if my concerns have no priority. The man I spoke with was extremely insensitive and when voicing my concern for my child said “I’m sorry you feel this way.” I am irate, and am completely displeased with the lack of attention and kindness the staff has. I am not looking forward to my pregnancy journey with Sharp grossmont.
I waited 10 years to write this review but enough is enough. The office employees here must be immune to being fired, because the last thing they care about is patients and they don't even try to hide it. I cannot believe my insurance people were the good guys that helped me out in my last transaction with them. I have an excellent PPO plan and my deductible is met for the year, but they shamelessly sent me a bill for $700 for an annual physical for my child... when I called to correct this apparent mistake, the "couldn't-be-bothered" administrator smirkingly told me no, my insurance wasn't paying for it, I have to take it up with them - what she left out was, "because she, or her office, couldn't care less". I was livid, but thank God for my excellent insurance for immediately seeing that the codes this office sent were all wrong, even showing them "out of network" - for Aetna! I had told this to the office too but she couldn't care about that either. She almost enjoyed to hear someone -a patient- in distress. Insurance took care of dealing with them. They were dismissive to the insurance too and tried to refuse resubmitting the claim with the CORRECT codes! I guess they wanted the satisfaction of seeing a patient with perfect insurance pay $700 out of pocket for preventative care of a minor... Also it's absolutely true about not being able to see a steady, or any, really, doctor. I've been seeing various nurse practitioners here than a doctor for the last 5 years. I'm taking myself and my kids elsewhere at this point.
If you can, avoid like the plague. You will never have a consistent doctor. Mine keep leaving after 6-12 months. You will never get an appt with your doctor if you are sick and if you MUST see you doctor be prepared for a 6-8 week wait! If you need to reschedule an appointment. DONT, just cancel it and go the the Emergency room. That seems to be the only place in this organization where you can get timely medical care.
I came to the La Mesa emergency room on Monday morning for severe upper abdominal pain. I was admitted and ended up needing surgery to remove my gallbladder on Tuesday. My nurses Gorgette, and Pat were so amazing i couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’d never had surgery before and was very scared. ALL the women in Pre-Op were angels and i felt so cared for and listened to. My surgeon Dr Mayberry was amazing everyone that i encountered including nursing assistants, everyone was amazing. I genuinely cannot recommend this hospital enough. Thank you all so so much i cannot thank you enough.
Why is it always a struggle to get through to the Occupational Medicine Department? The phone just rings and rings and if someone happens to pick up, they immediately hang up the phone. It took my workers comp rep all day to get through. The other week I called, no kidding at least 10 times, and was hung up on each time. Today I got through and spoke to someone, I called back to inquire about my question, since I was told I would receive a call back and hadn't. I've now been hung up on two times in a row. Of course now we're going into the weekend with a holiday and I won't be taken care of. If the call volume is too high for the people there to handle, then bring in more people. Also, I don't feel that the Dr.s here take the injuries seriously. Am I writhing on the floor in pain? No. But do I have pain that isn't normal? Yes.
These “healthcare providers” should have their licenses revoked. I’ve never had a problem with any other Sharp location/provider, until La Mesa. I have been refused care. They won’t follow up after ER and Urgent Care visits. I’m looking into legal actions.
None of the doctors at sharp hospitals care about you. They will always rush you and dismiss any questions or concerns. Oftentimes they feel disrespected that you even ask questions. Aren’t doctors supposed to HELP and care for patients? I’ve tried 4 different rees-stealy providers and they were all the same. You’re just a number and dollar sign to them.
