Small Works Project, Art-In-The-Gardens, The Original Art for Everyone Sale
WHAT is the Small Works Project?…
Hello fellow artists and friends,
We are excited to announce this year’s Small Works Project and Art in The Gardens.
Once again, SVA will be fulfilling our mission to promote opportunities for our members and the community by organizing and implementing an art sale and free art participation program in Sheboygan County.
It’s a three part project: The Small Works Project, The Original Art for Everyone Sale, and Art in the Gardens.
If you weren't involved in the past years, here in a nutshell, is how it works.
SVA purchases and distributes 300 8x10 canvases to members, friends and guest groups. The Small Works artists paint, draw, collage, sculpt etc. on their canvas or other material and donate it back to SVA.
A huge wall of art is on display at EBCO ArtWorks until the artwork is sold off and distributed to the buyers at a big party on July 31st 2015. Artists are featured on our Flickr and Facebook pages.
Proceeds from the sale of the artwork are used to run workshops throughout the summer at Bookworm Gardens. The workshops are free and open to all.
This will be our fifth year of Small Works and we welcome returning partner:
Bookworm Gardens will again host our free art workshops. www.bookwormgardens.org
This year we welcome The Kohler Foundation's support in funding our art supplies.
How you can help. 1. Create art for the sale. 2. Help with promotion. 3. Help with the sales. 4. Buy some artwork. 5. Run a workshop. 6. Tell everyone you know to get involved too. 7. Work at the Sale event.
Bookworm Gardens, The Sheboygan Visual Artists, you, and the Sheboygan community all will benefit as we work together to foster and promote creativity and the visual arts with this project.
