I heard the words "All You Can Eat Brunch Buffet." This, coupled with the mid-80's power pop playing in the background, and I was sold. It was the Sunday before Passover and the place was moderately busy. The buffet cost $20 for adults, $15 for kids, and came with coffee or tea for those who wanted I chose coffee, DUH. The food I selected was delicious, hot and fresh. I saw several dishes removed and replenished while I was there. A carafe of water was sat at our table for those who didn't want the buffet's selection of juice. The buffet had traditional breakfast choices like waffles, pancakes, home fries, bagels and lox; as well as lunch choices like macaroni and cheese and a variety of fresh, crisp salads. Decor is charming early 90's kitsch. Restroom was moderately clean for a busy Sunday. Good is kosher/dairy with a reliable hashgacha. Family friendly atmosphere. Whole I only brought along my older children, I would feel very comfortable bringing my small children here.
Quite decent all you can eat brunch Sunday mornings. The food is out for a bit, so it's not always the freshest, but it still tastes pretty good. There's a really nice spread of salads, breads, eggs, French toast, pancakes, home fries, quiche, pizza bagels and more, plus 2 eggs any style all for $20. It's a good family friendly option.
Husband & I decided to check this establishment out this past Sunday despite the reviews. We traveled from upstate New York to shop in the store next to this restaurant, and they recommended them. I should have gone with my gut instincts and left with my husband before we sat down. The hosts/ waiter either hates his job or doesn't feel they need the business. He was very uninviting. Our utensils as well as water glasses were dirty & I had to ask to have them replaced. Obviously they had a large party at some point before we arrived. Food and dirty dishes on several tables, and the floors were dirty. We were there a good hour before anyone cleared these tables. Inquiring on menu selections apparently annoyed our waiter. My husband had the eggplant parm with spaghetti. Lacked sauce as well as flavor. We started off with the nacho appetizer, costly and had maybe a teaspoon of black beans, 2 slices of cheese and that was it. I asked the waiter where the sour cream, guacamole, and salsa were? He did not apologize he returned to our table with the guacamole and salsa. He did not apologize when he said there was no more sour cream in the restaurant. I myself ordered the impossible burger, which I've had elsewhere. Tasteless, and very greasy. The fries that came with it were inedible. As you can see hopefully from the picture if not check out my Yelp review the fries were burnt and soggy. The waiter practically hovered over us as we ate asking if he could take the dishes when it was obviously we were still eating. Not that we would have eaten anything else, he didn't ask if we wanted desert. Lousy experience. Get another job or buy some personality lessons.
Absolutely awful. We came here because they call themselves "Shelly's VEGETARIAN cafe". When we walked in, the waitress was very rude. When we asked if they served real meat in their meat dishes, she didn't respond and walked away. A few moments later, the manager walked over to our table and asked if he could help us. We asked if they were all vegetarian options and he laughed at us and said no. As we got up to leave, the waitress and the manager both pointed and laughed at us. I always warn people about this place. Also, the place smells like cat urine and mold. Avoid at all costs.
The food was great. The staff was great. Definatly one of the best dairy resturants I've been to. The decor was like a old style diner, some like that some don't. the one minor problem which I might not even call a problem is there was alittle piece of metal on the side of my plate, but when i told the waiter, he quickly brought the manger who gave me a free dessert and a decent discount off the bill. I also hear they have a really good cheap all you can eat buffet on teusday nights.
Wanted to try this place since it's a "Vegetarian" restaurant. I'm vegan, so usually vegetarian places have vegan options as well. We asked the waiter if there were any vegan options, and all he said was "no". Usually waiters will suggest how they can alter the food by taking out the cheese or cream to make it vegan, but he didn't try to help at all. It was super awkward and he just stared at us. We ended up just ordering fries and the chips with guacamole which were vegan btw and he did not even suggest this... They also sell the impossible burger which is vegan that my friend ordered he did not suggest this either... It was $20 which is extremely expensive for just a burger and fries. Even Bareburger is cheaper and the way they prepare their impossible burger is 10x better... The one here was very bland and dry.... Very disappointing service and throughout our meal, no one asked us if we needed anything and just ignored us. Really wanted to like this place but there are so many restaurants that have great service, I have no reason to come back here...
Food was great, a little bit pricey for dairy but the portions are large so that balances out. Had an experience where one dish took a very long time something like 35 minutes to come out, but they were very apologetic.
We made a reservation a week ago so my widowed stepmother could have a nice meal with three of her stepchildren, their spouses, and grandchildren, but when we got there, the manager said he gave our table to a large family an hour before our reservation and they had not left yet and he didn't know how long they would be. So after waiting 15 minutes, we went down the street to Sababa's and had a nice Yemenite lunch.
Went to this Restaurant with my family last week for Brunch and the manager was so rude. He was very insensitive and so was the waitress. Also, the man behind the counter was glaring at me and my family the whole time. I would not recommend going, solely for the experience.
I really like the food and service here, the staff were friendly and knew the menu well. Food was a bit pricy but that is to be expected at a kosher resturant. By far one of the best quality of food- price i have seen at a kosher resturant.
