General Sick Visits
Although we are not a walk-in clinic, we try to reserve several appointment slots daily in order to accommodate those who may have gotten sick overnight or are in need of immediate care. If we cannot schedule you on a particular day, we will put you on a waitlist in case there are any cancelations. We strive to do our very best in meeting the individual needs of each person.
Wellness Exams
Whether you need a work physical, sports physical, or just a general check-up, we are equipped to evaluate your health & wellness through blood tests, x-rays, EKGs, and other assessments. Since comprehensive physical exams take more time, we can only schedule so many per day. If possible, please call a week or so in advance to ensure that you can come in at a time that works for your schedule and ours.
Senior Care
Dr. Shepherd has been the foremost geriatric doctor in Denton County and the surrounding areas for over 15 years. As the medical director for multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Livings, and Home Health agencies, Dr. Shepherd has a comprehensive perspective from which he can advise & follow seniors with quality continuous care.
Attention Deficit Disorder Treatment
Dr. Shepherd diagnoses & treats children, teens, and adults for ADHD. Dr. Shepherd utilizes medication-based treatment and is also able to advise parents & families on how to manage symptoms and behavioral issues.
Weight Loss Program
For several years, Dr. Shepherd has been helping patients lose weight and keep it off through a three-step program that consists of dieting, exercise, and an appetite suppressant. This program was created with “whole person” health in mind, and empowers men and women to achieve their goals and maintain ideal weight.

According to U.S. Surgeon General, over 435,000 people die yearly from smoking. In addition to the risk that it presents in and of itself, smoking also increases the severity of other common illnesses such as heart disease. Diabetes Protocol
Dr. Shepherd has recently instituted a new system of care for our diabetic patients. As one of the fastest growing diseases in the United States—currently infecting over 8% of Americans—it is important that diabetes be closely monitored and that patients are given steps to prevent further complications.
Clinical Research
In January 2010, Dr. Shepherd’s practice was enrolled as a research site to participate in a clinical study to treat and reverse the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.
