Shiawassee Arts Council sponsors and encourages participation and appreciation of the arts in Shiawassee County and its surrounding area.
Located in Curwood Castle Park overlooking the Shiawassee River in downtown Owosso, the Shiawassee Arts Center offers quality arts and cultural activities that educate, entertain and enhance the quality of life for local residents and visitors. These activities include featured art exhibitions, a specialty gift shop, year-round art classes for children and adults, the Frederick C. Frieseke Impressionist Gallery, and special events. In addition, the beautiful River Gallery and open-air terrace is available for rent.
The purpose of the Shiawassee Arts Council is to sponsor and encourage participation and appreciation of the arts in Shiawassee County and its surrounding area.
The council may research, plan, develop and present quality arts and cultural activities that educate, entertain and enhance the quality of life in our community.
SAC envisions a vibrant community where the arts inspire our innovative spirit, celebrate our cultural diversity and encourage community involvement.
