What a magical little space to have discovered. Such a great space to chill for 2 days. Was mid Nov so no one was around but me. Grateful for the fire pit. Stay here if you are passing through. It's free camping but please donate and hp around if possible. I just walked around an found some trash. Make it better then you found it and help Don out.
Thanks for the hospitality. You provide a great service to our community. Thanks for the overnight rest stop.
Loved this amazing last minute find. Never felt more safe and welcomed in all my travels. Don and his dogs are a great gift to this world for opening up his land to many travelers from around the world. There’s no cost but donations are welcomed and suggested. And so they should. The land comes with a cozy covered fire pit with chopped wood and a few staples like wipes cleansers canned beans and more. There’s also a stone pizza oven and a trailer with books and a few things for kids. Don’t forget to log in and add a pin to the map to show where you’re from. Please go and enjoy but help to care for it and keep it going. Bless this man’s heart for his kindness and generosity.
What a beautiful gem of a place. The owner is so nice and helpful, we tented here for a night and there is no charge but you can certainly give a donation. I would definitely come back, we had a fire in the pit surrounded by old wooden swings and all you could hear during the night are the frogs croaking. Met some realy nice people from other provinces as well. There is a book in the old trailer that you can sign to say where your from and you can see that everyone that’s been there feels the same way, loves it Restrooms: There is a little bathroom there to use Dog-friendliness: Is dog friendly Picnic area: A picnic table there to have a picnic
My boyfriend and I didn’t know what to expect when we saw the ad and decided to give it a try, but this is by far our best camping experience in New Brunswick! The owner, Don, is super welcoming and makes sure you’re comfortable. It says free in the ad but we strongly recommend you to leave a donation.
Quaint, low key and off the beaten track. Be careful with the map apps. You might end up on some logging trails.
We had a great time with Don, the views were spectacular, and Sally dog would come visit to get some lovins’ and to keep us company:. We had bonfires every night and played the guitar and Don even came over and showed us how to play the bones lol. He’s a great story teller and can tell you lots of local information that we ourselves being from not to far away didn’t even know…..if given the choice you should go and enjoy his little slice of heaven: Todd & Kat Randall
We were thrilled to find a free place to pitch our tent for the night. Don a was super friendly host, Sally the dog was very nice, especially with our 7 month daughter. The site is very clean and scenic. It is surrounded by a nature reserve. Two more campers showed up for the night. Had great time chatting around the covered communal fire pit. Which btw is surrounded by four large swings. The site is rustic... No power, water or shower. There is a outhouse on site with toillet paper. Fire wood can be had accross the street for 5$ for a bundle or 8$ for two bundle.
If you have an RV or a campervan we would recommend this place to stay overnight. Very quiet and peaceful. The owner was super nice. There are bathrooms and a fire pit and common area to sit.
Don is a very charming man ! Has a great story of this place when he started here back in 1975. Born down the road from where we are now .. the old family cemetery is here dating back to 1801 and born in 1735
