Nice stop in Onekama. Diverse menu, the Burrito I ordered mine minus the veg was awesome. I forget our server's name, but she was a young blond girl and was very friendly and helpful. We'd definitely eat there again.
Walking in you're transported back to the mid 80's where cleanliness wasn't really cared about. The food was overpriced and flavorless. The BLT was absolutely ridiculous in both size and taste. The chips that came with it was a mere handful and the entire meal wouldn't have been able to make a small child feel full. The quesadilla had a hamburger pattie without any spice added to it and a head of lettuce on top of it. The fountain drinks had a peculiar flavor of the machine not being cleaned in who knows how long. This may be a favorite to locals but people passing through will be greatly disappointed. Save your money and go to McDonald's... it'll be cheaper, cleaner and have more flavor.
This was the second time my wife and I have eaten at Shirley's. The first time was by chance this time was planned. Their prices are fair, their broasted chicken is great, and my meatloaf was right on the mark. The portion sizes and price points equal a great value!! It is a neat locally owned bar and grill and all of the staff that we have interacted there have been friendly and on top of things.
Finally arriving in Onekama, hungry and tired, we found this restaurant. And by restaurant, I mean absolute dive. This place was so questionable when we walked in, that I instantly wanted to walk out, but I no longer had the energy to do so... and I am so glad I didn't! Shirley's has one of the best hamburgers I have had in a long, long time, and their french fries were wonderful! My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised about how good their food was, we went again the next day with my family! This is one of those typical "don't judge a book by its cover" stories!
A semi dive bar that has good food at reasonable prices. They sell a 1 pound smelt basket that will feed 2, for $10. The rest of menu is typical bar food. Drink prices are reasonable also. When busy there can be a bit of a wait. Worth the stop if in the area.
A terrible restaurant with terrible food. The service is horrendous and the kitchen can't make an order correctly to save their life. How many times does a person have to go in and order the same meal for them to screw it up? Ridiculous. It is your typical scummy dive bar with a typical scummy staff. The waitresses reek of cigarettes and the kitchen staff is more interested in banging those smelly waitresses than making food correctly. The bar manager hires these people under the table and expects top quality service. Okay lol. Watch out for this dump. You're much more likely to get better service, better prices, and better food at Shay's, M-22, the Glenwood or yellow dog cafe.
Way to go with great food and EVEN BETTER VEGATERIAN OPTIONS!!! Food and options for everyone if you can get past the dark low ceilings and 80s dive bar feel. Needs updating and some lighting but as mentioned before...we left very satisfied!
Loved it. This was our first time here. We are up north on vacation. Good food & great service. If only my baby wouldnt have been so fussy, we would have been able to stay longer. Thanks again
Food was good. Fish-Fry prices are a little high. Only two girls working to tend the bar, waitress and bus tables. They did a great job but being under staffed things were a little slow.
It's a local bar with local folks, but if you happen to read this, know that the blond girl behind the bar is the cutest and prettiest girl I've ever seen. And the kitchen Chris is my go to chef, makes magic burgers and tender chicken.
