I really like Shop 'n Save! I had never been. There is a large range of different brands and products. The produce section had a nice variety of fruits and vegetables. As well as every department. The store was really clean and the staff are very knowledgeable. The prices of most products were comparable to other big brand stores. I'll definitely be going back.
I love their coupon deals! Most of the cashiers are really nice too. I think they need to hire a few more though bc ive been there a few times where the check out lines are extremely long and only a couple lanes are open.
i come here very frequently but considering more costly options because the service is miles better at other businesses. I'm not sure if the employees are treated badly or they just don't care who they hire but everyone who works here is in a bad mood every single time i visit. from the deli filled with employees who pretend they can't see you, to the cashiers who sigh when you get into their lane, to the reluctant managers. you can tell that every employee here is miserable. i had recently walked by a manager there multiples times for 10 minutes completely and obviously lost and not been acknowledged at all. i didn't bother asking him myself bc i had encountered him before and he was unpleasant. i've also seen other managers reprimanding staff out on the sales floor which is completely unprofessional. pay your staff better or something. i have no idea what else the problem could be. ive worked retail for many years and this is totally weird and unacceptable.
I would have left no stars but not an option. Rudest store in south county. checkers yell at you for not bringing cart around for loading fast enough. Last time there, no lanes open except express lane, and when I asked manager where to check out he pointed me to a lane opening. Asking checker if she was now open she rudely answered " My lights on now, IM OPEN." This applies only to Lemay store. I Love the Lindbergh store but unfortunately a little farther away. I will from now on, go the extra distance for good service.
This store has gone downhill. The prices have skyrocketed while the selection of boxed & canned goods has stayed the same & the produce quality has plummeted. I have been loyally coming here for my groceries for years so I never knew any better. But then I went to Deirbergs & Schnuck's last week & i walked out with my carts filled with what I would have bought from SnS for a noticeable savings & a much better quality of produce. This store is robbing you blind. I am no longer patronizing this place. Take your business elsewhere.
So I worked in a grocery store while in highschool and while back on break from college. Let me start this by saying I have rarely encountered so many employees struggling to get to even a mediocre level of job performance. Either the store director should be replaced by someone less complacent with current employee work standards or corporate should probably just close this location like maplewood. Last several times I've been in during the late afternoon early evening to grab a couple quick items there has only been 2 check lanes open with lines stretching well into the isles. Sorry not waiting in line 30 minutes to buy a bag of chips and can of dog food. Checkers routinely wander from thier lanes to chat with others no other reason, not like they are assisting others by bagging groceries like other stores. Had to track someone down to ok my beer purchase at uscan because the checker was hanging out by the express line opposite side of the checklanes. Maybe they were getting cigarettes or small liquor bottles for a customer... Nope, I was the only one at u-scan. No reason this person shouldn't have been at thier workstation. Went in yesterday in an attempt to find langostinos for jambalaya. Didnt see any by seafood, attempted to ask someone in the deli/seafood section but they had several people waiting ahead of me and seemed extremely engaged in conversation with another customer so I figured Id circle back around. Went and looked in frozen, nothing. Went back by the deli and the employee was still chatting with the same customer. So I went to the "courtesy counter" questionably named to ask if it was something they carried. Lady behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about. After clarifying several times she asked me if was something in seafood or frozen? Hello....If I knew I wouldn't be standing here asking. She attempted to contact the deli via red-line call over the store intercom. Minutes go by, no answer probably STILL talking to that same customer She calls frozen on the Red-Line, several more minutes go by, no answer. She calls Dairy on the red-line and by now Im figuring the entire store is on smoke break or took the day off, and why would someone who stocks the milk and cheese be familiar with the location of my seafood product? I finally told the courtesy counter lady enough was enough, I'll go down the street to dierbergs where they will likely cost more, but I know they will not only have them but employees will be competent enough to know where to find them. Also, where are all the paper bags??? You have spots for them on the bagging station but there are never any there. Many cities are flat out banning single use plastic bags because of their terrible impact on the environment but it seems to be the only option you offer. Shame on you. Maybe I need to ask about paper bags at the courtesy counter so they can attempt to inquire with every other dept in the store as to where they might be via red-line. Too many options nearby for groceries to deal with this time and time again. Won' be back.
Horrible place. Half the workers are rude and very unclean looking. Flies are always buzzing inside the donut cases. Deli needs to get rid of some of their staff or teach them how to behave properly. Gloves and hairnets need to be worn at all times when handling food.
The deli has their menu price posted proudly $10.39 for 12 pc Chicken includes 3 breasts, 3 legs, 3 thighs, 3 wings. So why did i get home and have 6 wings, 4 legs snd 2 thighs? Not one word was said regarding substitutions, or how about opening your mouth for minimal customer service skills and inform the customer that you will have to cook more chicken and offer the customer a wait time or another option. Very disappointing.
I have been shopping here for years because the selection has always been better than Aldis or Walmart , that all ends since the just completed redesign of the layout. Not only have things been jumbled around the selection has decreased tremendously. I will unfortunately be giving my money to Walmart and just have to deal with the crowds if I want to continue to find the brands I want. Very sad indeed!!!
Enjoyed going through this grocery store. Unlike Walmart this store was well stocked and very clean. The cashiers were plentiful so there was no waiting in line. Great job!
