A week ago my heart was in serious trouble. It was obvious I wasn’t going to make my doctors appointment. After some serious concerns about another provider and previous poor treatment at that facility I came to Shore Medical Center. From the moment I entered the building I was the focus. Yes they were a little panicked, but it was for good reason, my heart was out of control. The Center’s staff quickly began the process of repairing my heart. The problem I had previously was doctors that didn’t listen to me. Who knows more about your body, you or your doctors? You know more and Shore Medical Center listen to me and we became a team. All of my concerns were heard, and acknowledged. They made my job very easy, stay calm follow their instructions. Eating properly was a pleasure, the food was perfectly prepared and tasted great. My room was cleaned daily by a charming lady. The staff deserves allot of my affection, not one of them ever made me feel as though I was a second thought. I always felt like I was their concern, and family. It must be said, the women and men that were responsible for me in all aspects other than the responsibilities of the doctors were rock stars. From administrators to the people that took me for tests and x-rays, I felt respected and safe guarded. Repeatedly they came in my room with smiles and comfort. My doctors treated me correctly with awesome bed side care. They answered all my questions promptly and professionally, making it easy to trust them, and do my part. Everyone did this without any negative body language. Make the right choice for health and go to Shore Medical Center.
So scary when you have to bring a young child to an unfamiliar ER in the middle of the night! But I want to say, how caring and nice and competent every single person we came in contact with was. From the security guard who greeted us outside when we entered, to the different one when we left. The check in person in the ED, the triage nurse that took history and vitals, The Pt access person who offered to get her a warm blanket, the nurse caring for her, the doc...everyone. Thank you for your kindness! We visited the early hours of 2/17/23.
I would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff for taking great care of my wife Debbie after coming down with pneumonia while on vacation at Ocean City. Being out of state I could not be with her due to an illness of my own, my daughter Stacy was with her as long as they would allow, both my wife and daughter described the care as Excellent!!! A special thanks to Dr. Kelly and Nurse Jennifer for the kindness and compassion they shown in taking care of both of my girls! I would definitely recommend! Thank You Shore Medical Center!
Last night I had to go to the ER while on vacation and I’m currently pregnant. The staff wasted no time making sure I was in the right spot to monitor my little one and make sure he is okay. I’ve worked in the OBGYN field for 10 years and I have to say I was terrified to go to a hospital where I didn’t know the staff or doctors but they went above and beyond for me the couple of short hours I had to be there. The nurse whom I forget her name made me feel so comfortable and calmed me down.
My son came in to be seen. He was sent home from school with a fever of 101.1. We brought him here to be checked out. My son is non-verbal and has Autism. He was skipped over twice by two other families with kids to go to pediatrics. I went to the desk to ask why. I was informed that they don't go by appointment. It's by severity. How can you say my child's situation is not severe if you haven't checked him out and he's non-verbal. The attitudes and unprofessionalism is disgusting.
I will be eternally grateful for the care I received at Shore Memorial Hospital. Even the ER experience was good. Dr. Cichorrini was able able to find out what was wrong with me and things moved quickly from there. My nurse Nicole in the ER was great and then I was admitted to ICU where I met Dylan and "Hawaiian Sue". Everyone has been so good and kind. Cindy and Venn were great on 5th floor. They are excellent. What a special gift -to be compassionate and highly skilled. The transport and dietary aids were very kind. The hospital is clean. It is run very well and the staff really cares. I will never forget my stay here and I am feeling much better. God bless all of them. Nancy alessandrini, BSN
I used to love bringing my kids here until tonight. I’ve been to over 5 different hospitals/urgent cares to seek help for my child. This hospital turned me away!!!!!! They didn’t listen to ANY of my concerns and treated me like my feelings didn’t matter!!!! They didn’t even examine my child!! Just gave him a swab and sent him home! My child wasn’t even making wet diapers and they didn’t care!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!
Was injected with medication that interacted with my medication. Nobody asked or anything or told me what it was, they just said “its gonna help with the pain, pill or shot?” and i said shot. I was completely out of it mentally for three days. the same nurse that injected me also was hostile the entire time i was there, arguing with me when i asked simple questions about my care, and as i was leaving she was gossiping about me to another nurse and pointing saying “thats her”. ive also had an experience here on a separate occasion where they were taking my blood pressure as they were removing my iv. I thought it was odd but i didn’t question it bc i figured the medical professionals know what they are doing but my blood was shooting straight up and got all over my gown, the bed, and the nurse, even a spot on the ceiling. That is whatever, i guess, because that truly could have been an accident but i was super lightheaded afterwards and couldn’t really walk and i was super dizzy and they just told me to get dressed and im discharged and like i looked like i was ab to pass out and the one nurse asked if i was okay and i said i was dizzy and he said ok hon get dressed and ur good to go. i then stumbled to my moms car as she was picking me up. The nurse that injected me with the incorrect medicine and fought with me and gossiped about me all while i was just trying to get care for a broken rib is the reason i will never be going back to this facility. i have actively avoided getting help because of that nurse, Im afraid i will be injected with the wrong medication again and next time it will kill me. they love themselves some negligence in the ER department.
Used to be Great emergency room. Was in severe pain and sat there for 2 hours. Finally gave up on them and left still in pain. Won't ever be back. Maybe day shift is better than the second shift. The one star was a gift.
Went to the ER 5/29 for a dog bite that required 6 stitches. I was there for 45 minutes and left with the stitches and a course of amoxicillin. Received a non-itemized bill yesterday for $4200. Tried to call to get an explanation and they said it will take 3-5 days to send out the itemized bill. I will not be paying this bill through my HSA out of principle unless a more reasonable amount is agreed upon. I would steer clear of this hospital unless you have no other choice. UPDATE: received an itemized bill today that lays out the cost associated with my visit: $2205 for the visit, $813 facilities charge, $35 Amoxicillin, and $1250 doctor fee. Pretty steep fees for 45 minute visit. Won’t be paying this out of principle.
