BEWARE: my mom died at Shore last weekend. Someone there stole her phone that had her wallet attached. So no protocol as to handle personal belongings for someone that has died there? Disgusting. The representative for the security team who I spoke to was adamant that she didn't have phone on her, however I called and spoke to my mom AND the ICU doctor and nurse ON HER PHONE. It's in the nurses notes that the phone was turned into security after she passed. The security guard did however go on to detail horrific, and unnecessary details about her clothing items as to why they were not saved, IN THE LOBBY. Apparently not only is there no protocol on how to handle personal belongings, but no sensitivity training either. A police report has been filed. Whoever stole this from a dead woman should rot in hell, and hopefully be fired too.
Best Hospital ever! I have been there for two spinal surgeries 4 years apart and it couldn't have gone smoother. Dr Francis Kralick was my neurosurgeon and he really is a miracle worker; so professional and personal and really cares about his patients.. no one wants to go through spinal surgery, let alone twice, but if you have to thank God I had Dr Kralicks skillful hands on me for the procedure. God him
I went to the ER here and had a great overall experience - the nurses were kind, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. The doctor was highly credentialed, easy to talk to and spent a lot of time explaining what was going on. Great hospital and great staff.
This hospital is completely hurtful. I have multiple nursing friends that refuse to work here as they have been tortured and treated horribly. Multiple nurses have recently left and I agree with them pursuing legal action. Do not come to this hospital as a patient, especially if you are of any color. Best of luck to those who are not and please beware.
I came in cause I have HS and I refuse to go to cape regional again.. I was so scared cause the last few times I had to get these numbed and cut out it was the worst experience I ever had , so I came here and omg they were amazing, she was gentle and the nurse held my hand and rubbed my head the whole time! I wish I knew their names ! I never had a dr and nurse so kind and caring ! They were seriously amazing. And the pain was no where near what I was expecting like at cape regional!!
I went to Shore Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Room in March 2023 because of severe symptoms from a heart condition hoping I would receive better medical attention than Cape Regional Hospital. What a HUGE MISTAKE! These doctors should not have licenses “to practice medicine”. I would go so far as to say the 2 I saw should be in prison for what they do to people. Dr Victoria McElroy was my doctor in the emergency room. She finally showed up to see me after I was in the emergency room for several hours waiting for medical attention, and only after prescribing nitroglycerin which caused a severe reaction and left me fighting for my life for hours. THEN she finally showed up, took my hand and said, “Don’t worry, you’re not going to die.” After everything she had just put me through, that was not good news. I was in such physical duress from her lack of treatment for hours, refusing to prescribe pain medication and then the nitroglycerin, I was begging the Gods to just take me, please! One of worst experiences I have ever been through in my life—and I have been through some pretty unfathomable horrors. I went into the emergency room at 5:00pm. They finally treated me and when I got into the room upstairs it was 2:20am! When my system finally started to recover from the nitroglycerin and they moved me upstairs to a room, it was decided for observation overnight, apparently, all they did upstairs was neglect my needs and sent a cardiologist lucky him I forgot his name because I would slay that creep if I could the next morning. He changed his story a few times, told me I didn’t have sclerosis of the aeortic valve as previously diagnosed. He said I have a leaking tricuspid valve for which little could be done, ordered an ekg and then sent a nurse to discharge me saying that nothing was really wrong with me. This hospital, Dr Victoria McElroy and that cardiologist are atrocious! This is the kind of medical attention you can apparently expect from the state of New Jersey. Despicable!! I will say this much—the nurses in the emergency room were stellar, top notch excellent. Upstairs in a room? Lazy and negligent. And as I said, McElroy and that cardiologist should be in prison. I would choose to die before I would set foot in that wretched hospital again.
Came in to Shore Memorial with an extreme case of dehydration post Covid. I can’t say enough about how the emergency room staff responded and treated me. Thank you very much.
So scary when you have to bring a young child to an unfamiliar ER in the middle of the night! But I want to say, how caring and nice and competent every single person we came in contact with was. From the security guard who greeted us outside when we entered, to the different one when we left. The check in person in the ED, the triage nurse that took history and vitals, The Pt access person who offered to get her a warm blanket, the nurse caring for her, the doc...everyone. Thank you for your kindness! We visited the early hours of 2/17/23.
A week ago my heart was in serious trouble. It was obvious I wasn’t going to make my doctors appointment. After some serious concerns about another provider and previous poor treatment at that facility I came to Shore Medical Center. From the moment I entered the building I was the focus. Yes they were a little panicked, but it was for good reason, my heart was out of control. The Center’s staff quickly began the process of repairing my heart. The problem I had previously was doctors that didn’t listen to me. Who knows more about your body, you or your doctors? You know more and Shore Medical Center listen to me and we became a team. All of my concerns were heard, and acknowledged. They made my job very easy, stay calm follow their instructions. Eating properly was a pleasure, the food was perfectly prepared and tasted great. My room was cleaned daily by a charming lady. The staff deserves allot of my affection, not one of them ever made me feel as though I was a second thought. I always felt like I was their concern, and family. It must be said, the women and men that were responsible for me in all aspects other than the responsibilities of the doctors were rock stars. From administrators to the people that took me for tests and x-rays, I felt respected and safe guarded. Repeatedly they came in my room with smiles and comfort. My doctors treated me correctly with awesome bed side care. They answered all my questions promptly and professionally, making it easy to trust them, and do my part. Everyone did this without any negative body language. Make the right choice for health and go to Shore Medical Center.
I used to love bringing my kids here until tonight. I’ve been to over 5 different hospitals/urgent cares to seek help for my child. This hospital turned me away!!!!!! They didn’t listen to ANY of my concerns and treated me like my feelings didn’t matter!!!! They didn’t even examine my child!! Just gave him a swab and sent him home! My child wasn’t even making wet diapers and they didn’t care!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!
