Please, do not make the mistake that I did and put your loved one under their care. I made this god-awful mistake and I regret it every day of my life. It's better to leave them to their own dysfunction then to put them in this horrific Institution. They will make your loved one problem exponentially worse. The people that work there are horrible human beings and are not there to help God forgive me for putting my wife in their care. I should have checked better and I should not have trust them. May the people that work there rot in hell
So this disgusting “hospital” took down my review. I was involuntarily committed here for 6 days and during those 6 days many illegal things occurred as well as abuse of medication on the part of the “doctors”. Everyone in there is over medicated on heavy antipsychotics to the point where they shake or can’t keep their eyes open. 10 people came into my room one afternoon and told my roommate who was upset with her care her feet had swelled in reaction to a medication they forced upon her that she was allergic to, they did not treat her for the swelling and they told her “we can do it the easy way, or the hard way, where we hold you down and shove this Haldol down your throat”. I’ve made it my life mission to get this place shut down. And oh I will. Keep taking down my reviews, they’ll keep coming.
I was here for emergency psychiatric services once, though I also was here once for an allergic reaction. Although the first nurse I encountered was kind and welcoming with an affable bedside manner, the psychiatric ward proper is a nightmare. I spent a sleepless night there before being transferred to an inpatient center. I couldn't call my parents until the morning, and kept getting interrupted through the night by someone checking up on me. Very eerie.
Left me with none of my benzodiazepine script and put me in withdrawal when I came home. Impossible to get your medical records. Edit: They called me back and unfortunately have policies in place but made sure to call back and give referrals
Sometimes things get hard and it feel’s impossible and and not worth the fight anymore and you want to give up but you got to remember in the end it will and be worth it and you will get though it believe me I’ve been there I wanted to give up on life so many time but I finally am on the right meds and then I went to get help and they helped me so much now I have so much hope I going to go back to school to be a nurse and I going to start livening my life all thanks to the amazing people who believe in me and made me feel worth it I’m finally happy with my life and know now that I’m going to be ok all thanks to the amazing people at RWJBarnabas Behavioral Health Center
If possible avoid this location at every cost. The communication is horrible with family. The patients programs are non existent and by NO means are programs set up to facilitate the mental health help an individual needs. The nurses are rude yelling all the time in the background while on the phone with the patient. The list goes on. It’s a jail cell only. It all begins when you walk in the front door. You are greeted by a younger man and an older man with no smile, and no personality. I’m sure like the other posts a message will be replied back, I’m so sorry to hear this. The state needs to look into this facility quickly.
After calling for 5 hours I finally reached a supervisor named Renee to discuss the issues I’ve been having with my fiancés treatment since he was admitted 5 days ago. The staff is beyond rude to patients and visitors. The staff does not transfer calls properly when “attempting” to reach patients. The staff interrupts visitations as they’re going on, even though they’re only 30 minutes long. Unprofessional and disgusting behavior all around. I couldn’t imagine what it’s like to be a patient. Do not go here.
I was hospitalized here multiple times in the past but the last time I was hospitalized here was in February 2020 because of a physical altercation that I got into with Lexington Manor’s Administrator Debbie LeCaprio and this is seriously really way beyond the worst hospital to be in! Staff in the short term care and Barnabas Health units both are rude and disrespectful, the charge nurse in the short term care unit is very very grumpy, rude, and disrespectful, one of the staff members in the Barnabas Health Unit insulted me by calling me a bully, people get into arguments and fights in this hospital, Dr. Kishnia in the short term care unit is a very very nasty, grumpy, rude, and disrespectful doctor, 2 social workers by the names of Brian Epstein and Danny both referred me to a really nasty and really terrible Boarding Home in East Orange, NJ called Tiffany Manor and which Tiffany Manor is even worse than Lexington Manor and this hospital doesn’t even help or support people with Autism like me! But if you ever need help then don’t ever send your family or loved ones to this hospital NOT EVER!!!!
This is one of the best psych hospitals in the state. I am surprised at the negative reviews. All of them read like they are written by those very sick in their illness.
Let’s take a benzo/opiate addict and prescribe him BENZOS to take with him to rehab. Astounding.
