Karen and the rest of the team at Old Towne Danville Bakery did a wonderful job baking and decorating our wedding cake! She reached out in a timely manner and remembered all of the instructions for which flavors we wanted in which tiers. They also were able to provide us with a COVID-friendly cake sampling tray at no additional cost, which included 12 full slices of cake for us to try. A local florist provided the flowers, and then Karen arranged them on the cake on site. We are so happy with how everything turned out and would certainly do the same if we had it all to do over again!

I went in for a turkey and cheese Croissant. The staff was welcoming and attentive. Everything was great. I started eating the Croissant and it was really good. That was until the flavor went really off really fast. I spit out what I was eating and looked into the Croissant only to find the remnants of a chunk of mold. The majority of it was what I was previously chewing on. I could understand if they just had an off day and made some sub par pastries. However, serving people moldy food is a huge red flag.

Karen did a great job on our wedding cake! We loved the three tier flavors lemon, raspberry, and chocolate. They operate a little last minute we had our details call a week before the wedding which was a little stressful for us, but they pulled it off beautifully.

This is the local, small business women owned bakery that you want all your special occasion cake to be made from. Karen, the owner and cake artisan, is a dream to work with. Tell her your party theme and your vision and let her come up with the dessert ideas. She made this incredible “bunny coming out of the hat” chocolate raspberry filling white buttercream frosting birthday cake with 36 whipped cream non-dairy frosting chocolate and funfetti cupcakes. Karen suggested to put a fondant star on each of the cupcakes. The cake and cupcakes were super moist, not too sweet. Due to staffing issue, you have to place your order a week before your event. Old Towne Danville Bakery lives up to the online review hype. I highly recommend Karen and her bakery for all your special occasion dessert needs. Danville Bakery made a beautiful custom “Two the Moon” cake and cookies for my daughter’s 2nd birthday. The cake was yummy and the cookies were good and huge cookies are shown in the right hand side of photo. Ordering online was easy!

I hate to give this place less than 5 stars but kept being put on a back burner and ultimately they made me feel rushed and didn't get my order right. I originally called over a week before and they said they were "happily hectic" because it was the weekend and they had weddings, which was understandable and cute. They said they would be calling back on Tuesday but couldn't give me a set time when I asked multiple times as I am 'also' a very busy individual while they are supposed to have a staff team. I waited all Tuesday and had to call them myself before they closed, they were again "happily hectic" and couldn't take my card payment over the phone and said they would be calling back Wednesday or Thursday to take my payment. I called specifically because my friend wanted a really dark cake, almost like fudge for his 60th bday. When I originally told them that they said they had a specific way of doing chocolate, it didn't feel like they were listening to my specific request about how I wanted it to taste. They said it was all set for Saturday. I waited Wednesday and Thursday with no call and did not call them or receive a call Friday since again I work and am very busy. Finally Saturday morning when I am supposed to pick it up I am a little anxious because I wasn't called back like I was told. They had it ready and when I wanted to do the phone payment then, they said they were happily hectic again and I said "You had been happily hectic every single other time, let me run my card before I come over." They reluctantly ran my card over the phone, I went and picked it up. Size, appearance, and price were amazing and homeruns! Absolutely awesome! Unfortunately it wasn't as dark as I wanted so next year my friend wants me to go to a bakery in his neighborhood that fulfilled that request really well the previous year. I will add that they have really fluffy, tasty apricot coconut cake pieces in their display case that was 'heavenly'. Really good if you are craving wedding cake but don't have any weddings coming up.

Old Town Danville Bakery will be making my wedding cake, and today my fiancé and I met with the owner, Karen, for a tasting. The taste of absolutely everything here is top notch, but it’s really the presentation that sets this bakery apart. Karen’s cakes are works of art.

One word...DELICIOUS! We love to support Karen and her amazing, local business! We've been going to this bakery for 15 years now. She made a princess cake for our daughter's first birthday and we've been going back ever since. Our most recent time was a Zoom meeting for 28 girls, she made individual cakes for everyone! If you're thinking about stopping in...do it! If you've already gotten something sweet from here...go back! You won't be disappointed.
