A little cheesy, but fun. Volunteer was knowledgeable and walked us through a short video, gave a short presentation and answered questions. This is not the original shroud, but a printed replica in front of a light. Still cheap, fun experience when in the area.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Super interesting - had no idea what to expect. Didn’t go there intentionally; found it while driving around. Incredibly informative and super friendly staff. Highly recommend, even if you’re not Catholic.
Stopped in recently as the video was starting. Very informative along with the gentleman that runs the museum. Lots of great information and displays about the shroud and burial and Christianity in general. Lots of pictures and other items available to help you remember the experience. Worth the visit. Let's help the building get some AC or at least this place! Go Fund Me or any other ideas????? The presenter has done great work for many years in sharing this very important information about Jesus!
Inspirational imagery and historical accounts of the shroud in which Jesus was wrapped at the time of his crucifixion and resurrection. The curator of the museum invented the type of camera which show the shroud in a 3-D image. He is very knowledgeable about the shroud and it’s history. This museum needs more advertisement and a better website to inform everyone! Thank you Pete Schumacher for all you do and have done in implementing this wonderful museum. Great to visit. Bring the children since very few know about Christianity these days.
Great tour tons of info very interesting thank you mr. Pete !
The SEAM far exceeded our expectations. We were shown a brief video about the Shroud of Turin and a 1978 scientific investigation of the shroud. Following the video, we were given a thorough and interesting lecture by one of the engineers who participated in the 1978 study. I have read about the shroud and seen countless documentaries, but this was the most complete and compelling overview I have ever seen of the scientific evidence supporting the shroud as being the actual burial cloth of Jesus. The centerpiece of the museum is a 1:1, high-resolution, color spectrum accurate photograph of the Shroud of Turin. This photo is a must see. Other photographs and newspaper clippings provide interpretative information regarding scientific research of the shroud. Admission is free, and the museum is supported by donations and volunteerism. If you are in the Alamogordo area visiting this exhibit is a no brainer, but this is also well-worth traveling to see. Don’t miss this incredible experience!
Gentleman showed us an excellent video, then proceeded to detail all the known information of the crucifixion of Jesus.
The old man that volunteered at this museum was very sweet and helpful. He gave us interesting facts about the museum and the shroud. We found this museum while Geocaching, since this is part of an Aventurelab. My husband was stationed in Holloman AFB for three years and we used to live about four blocks away, yet we never noticed this little museum! The old man was interested in Geocaching as well and we talked a little bit after we had to head out. We really enjoyed the tour and we recommend this little gem for a quick stop so you can learn more about the history of this relic and how Alamogordo has influenced in its history.
Wish we could have gone in but they were closed.
Probably the best chance to view the clearest image taken, every inch of the shroud, life size. It's overwhelming. The museum is non-profit, volunteer operated.
