Writing this for a dear friend of mine who had her aunt stay here for rehabilitation after suffering a stroke and on dialysis. They offer an amazing inhouse dialysis program where she receives shorter sessions of dialysis 5 times a week which really helped her so she wasn't as tired and she can have the time to participate in the rehabilitation. She received the best care from the nursing staff which were extremely compassionate, loving and really made her feel as if she was a part of a family. If you were debating about sending a love one here...go for it! You will not be disappointed.
I would like to take a moment to recognize an outstanding CNA, Alejandra Dominguez which cares for my Mom Adilia Varela. During these difficult times she has been a shining beacon for caring for my Mom and constantly being in contact with me to tell me how she is frequently. She goes out of her way to allow me recently to drop off my Moms treats which is really all my Mom looks forward too lately. Knowing someone has loving care for my Mom during this pandemic has helped my brother and I sleep more peacefully at night. And Alejandra is very special because in the beginning of my Mom being a patient, I know my Mom was very difficult with her in the beginning stages of her dementia, and Alejandra has had a golden heart overcoming all those challenges and still treat my Mom with love and dignity she deserves. I could never repay her kindness and attention. SHC you have an amazing employee and let me say that all of my Moms care givers have nothing short of amazing. My mom has been a patient for over 5 years! We feel blessed with the level of care that we know she deserves.
my mom was in this place for a couple of weeks after a surgery, I can tell my best experience with all the employees and administration staff, Idaisy, Dothry Ana and the rest of the girls are so sweet with every single patient, I recommend this place f100%
My mother was a resident in the 3rd floor and she was loved by all of the nursing staff and doctors. My mother was bedridden and everything had to be done for her. She had to be fed, bathed, crained carried from the bed to the wheelchair and back to the bed again. My sister and I took turns in the afternoon caring for her after her private caretaker left to make sure that her diaper was changed and fed. We would feed her and she would eat without a problem. My mom rarely said no to food. We also kept her company and watched soap operas together. When COVID hit and the facilities closed their doors to the family, my mother didn't do too well. She was taken to Palmetto Hospital where they told us that my mother was malnourished, underweight, dehydrated, and septic. My mother died in June at the Palmetto Hospital. She did not die of COVID but she died because of it.They had to intubate her immefiately because she could not breathe and as the days passed her organs were shutting down. My mother lasted 6 days and as the hospital puts it " expired". The only thing that I can say is that my mother died of neglect from this facility. She was fine before COVID.. and did a complete 360 when you closed the doors to family members. Was my mother fed? Probably not.. She was malnourished and lost a lot of weight.. You tell me. No one called us to tell us that she was ill. The only call that we received was that she was going to the hospital. My mother was 89 and she lived a full beautiful life . But to think that she went hungry and probably sat in urine and in feces for hours is so inhumane and it breaks my heart. I personally wish that they would have closed your doors for good. My mother's in peace with our Lord. But I just wanted you to know what happened and how my sister and I feel. I hope no other family member has to endure the same pain. Thank You
This place does not even deserve one star! It is in deplorable conditions. Live roaches in patients rooms. They are understaffed and the staff they do have, have the worst bedside manner. They expect their patients to wear diapers to avoid having to take them to the bathroom. When we informed them that my mother did not use diapers we were told it was the law for patients to wear diapers at all times. And that they could not be taking her to the bathroom every time she wanted to go plus their backs we’re not strong enough. When the patients press the button or call scream for a nurse they are ignored. Soiled diapers are put on meal trays or chairs before discarding. The meal tray and chair were not disinfect after. Portable toilets are not cleaned in between patients. I asked for a wipes to clean it before use and was told they don’t do that. I was given a look like I was crazy. They rarely use gloves when handling patients. They expect patience to take showers every other day unless the family request a shower daily. When I asked why???? I was told they did not have enough employees to bathe the patients daily. The room had fecal matter on the floor in several places. I never saw anyone mop the room or clean the bathroom. We were told visitors needed to use the patients restroom. My mother lasted a day and a half. In the middle the night she vomited called for the nurse and was ignored. She could have aspirated and no one would’ve known until we arrived at 5:30 in the morning. She seemed drugged and was barely able to speak coherently. A rehab was not something we wanted for her. However, she needed it after heart surgery. The worst decision we ever made. Thank God we took her out of there. She is home thriving and has physical therapy twice a day. Please he’d my WARNING do not go to this place it is absolutely the bottom of the barrel.
My mother, Migdalia Fonseca is 91 years old. She has been living at Waterford Care Center for almost 4 years and she is doing very well for her age and her conditions. But, thanks to her doctor Reyes, the nurses: specially Dania, and the Assistants that are taking care of my mother's 'needs. The most important thing of all is the love that they give to my mother. I would like to mention Alexandra for her beautiful heart, the way she talks and the way she takes care my mother. She always keep my mother clean, and makes her smile. Also, the Social Worker Diana. I'm so glad that my mother is with such loving and caring staff!! Every day, I pray for all of them and give thanks to "God for helping me make the decision to take my mother to Waterford to be with such beautiful people. God bless all of them!!! MUCHAS GRACIAS!
The admissions is what turned me off about this place. I was looking for a place to place my mother who recently had a severe stroke. I toured the place to select which facility would be more suited for my mom. But trying to get the admissions to get back with me was an odissy to say the least. For days I would call and no answer even after I was transferred. Not even leaving a message helped. Still no call back. I urgently needed to know if my mom was approved. No response. This went on for almost a week. It was not until I complained was that the Nurys lady finally answered just to tell me that my mom’s request was denied. If that’s only the admissions , Then they did my mom a favor. I’m dealing with another facility and the treatment is the best in the world. Real customer service . Glad to not have gone there
My mother has been a resident in the second floor for about five years now. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff.which is very professional loving and dedicated. Especially the team that has been taking care of her after she was transferred to room 202 .. Hats off to Yolanda Cabrera ,Arelys y yurisan.could not thank them enough. I didn't want to let 2020 goby without expressing my appreciation.
Very grateful for this facility. Overall pretty good customer service. I felt like the nurses and assistants over in the second floor were professional, corteous, and took very good care of my loved one. A few of them in particular were quite attentive, nurse Yolanda and assistants ana and idaisis did a very good job. Overall I would recommend.
The staff is rude and definitely not properly trained. There’s no on call physician that is ever available when needed and the so called nurses have no idea what they are doing nor speak English. My family member was not accepted back into the facility because as a properly trained and experienced RN they facility was called out several times on medical errors, medication errors, and improper patient care. My family was not confused and that was their biggest downfall because they got away with it with all the confused patients since they had no clue what was going on. Impromptu inspections at random times of the days and nights would prove the poor and lack of patient care that is provided.
