Just fifteen months after opening deadhorse hill, the team is excited to announce the opening this fall of a brand new restaurant concept. Owners Jared Forman, Sean Woods, and Albert LaValley have commenced development for simjang, an American-Korean restaurant located at 72 Shrewsbury Street in Worcester, MA.
Inspired by Korean culture and cuisine, Chef Forman’s simjang will be a gateway for diners to experience lesser known flavor profiles and dishes in a vibrant, energetic environment. Staying true to the values of deadhorse hill, the team will continue using local & seasonal, responsibly-sourced ingredients, intertwining them with more traditional Korean elements. The menu will feature easy-to-order, quickly prepared, affordable dishes along with larger format items designed to be shared.
simjang - the Korean word for “heart” - will be a dining destination for locals and visitors alike in search of a spirited place to congregate for creative cuisine, cocktails, and good company. “Worcester is known as the Heart of the Commonwealth, and we want this restaurant to be attached to our community in the same vein,” Forman explains. “This city is where things used to happen and where so much is happening once again. Excitement and growth is pulsing through Worcester, and we love continuing to be a part of it by sharing one of our favorite cuisines with the neighborhood. We want simjang to be a place you can have fun, get messy, learn something new, and indulge.”
Simjang is slated to open this fall.
