I would not recommend this dentist or orthodontist. I started going to this practice when it was Dr. B for Kids and loved it. Dr B was a great dentist and ran a great practice. When he retired though, things changed a lot there. It seemed to turn into more of a money making business than a family dental office. Whenever I took my kids in for their 6 mos checkup, it seemed the dentist would be pushing some unnecessary procedure, that of course, would cost me money out of pocket, even with my very good dental insurance. My one son had his braces done there and they were on for 2+ years, and I honestly don't notice much of a difference. In fact, the new family dentist I switched to, said his overbite doesn't really look like it was taken care of at all. So I feel like I wasted thousands of dollars. Finally, after the braces were taken off, I received a pretty significant bill in the mail, even after making all my payments for braces. After finally getting through to the office, I was told it was a "mistake". Things just aren't the same there. It's a real shame, as it used to have way more of a "family" dental practice. I ended up asking around for referrals and found a new orthodontist for my other son, as well as a family dental practice in a neighboring town that I am very happy with!
I had a visit with Dr.Rachel Thomas. She does an amazing job. The work environment is super friendly, I felt very welcomed and comfortable. She's very nice and she did a great job with all my cavities. Very professional and would definitely recommend her.
I’ve been bringing my daughter to Dr. Rachel Thomas since she’s been 1, she’s now 21/2 and I can not express how great Dr Rachel is! She’s so gentle and patient and took a lot of time to explain in detail the things I didn’t understand and the things I was to expect in her mouth development! My daughter loves her and looks forward to seeing her for her 6 month checkups! The staff is also so nice and patient! We LOVE Dr Rachel and the team at SBS, you guys rock!
Only been here a handful of times so far for my son's fillings & cleaning. Already they're charging extra due to them not having done their homework to see how much insurance will pay and are claiming that "the price we give you is just an estimate". Mmkay, business lesson... Give a customer an estimate and before you start the procedure, you give a concrete price! Don't send a bill later on because oops, we didn't charge enough and since you had the procedure already, you're on the hook to pay. I should've known when I discussed an Orthodontic procedure with the finance manager who proceeded to lie to my face to get me on the hook for hundreds of dollars more than necessary claiming "Well, since its a package deal, it won't change the price even if you opt out of partial braces." Turns out, it does change the price. Significantly. They're there to make money. I see that now. Hope this helps you see through their facade before an unexpected bill from them is in your mailbox.
I was recommended here by a friend and everything seemed to start out well. I knew I needed a few broken fillings fixed. The worst one is the one they wanted to get to first. Due to a shotty dentist I went to as a kid. They x-rayed obviously then cleaned it out, said they did not see signs of infections or ulcers. Capped it off. I also had my wisdom teeth out here. Over the span of 3 months I think I spent almost $3k out of pocket. When I needed to call and cancel an appointment after all this work they told me it would cost $50. I had my debit card in hand and was told, "oh it seems you have a credit on your account" "okay cool, how much is the credit?" "$500".... Wait what?! And I wasn't told?? This was responded with "do you plan on having future appointments here with us?" "Not now!". Soon after I developed an infection on the tooth I had cleaned and capped and told them I am not putting another dime for a cap considering how much money I've spent and was told it was fine. I was also referred to a specialist that could go through the cap to clean out the tooth. This would probably result in paying a specialist just as much as paying for a new cap and whatever else I'd get hit with. I was so disappointed in the practice.
Before my most recent visit my rating would've been 5 I really liked this place a lot great staff and very helpful However my most recent visit still had great staff I wouldn't trade them for the world specially the new to me doctor and hygienist The bad news is that I have to redo a root canal and cap that they did maybe 3 years or 4 years ago which was a surprise because the visit before last they told me I have a cavity in the Same tooth but never memtioned about the root canal and cap I dont know if it's miss communication or what but they also told me that I have to go to a place down the street I was confused but didn't think much of it When I got home I called them and asked the why I have to go somewhere else After all I've been busting my my behind resurching which insurance to take that would consider them in network so I can keep them as my dental care because I recently retired I really worked hard on this too long story but I really find them to be a nice place So I fight hard to stay with them and they send me to another place for the procedure and I dont know wether the other place takes my insurance the reply was we don't rework our own work from a previous time, I never found why no explanation was given. My apologies I thought my review was missing but it was posted at the wrong location this is the right one now all good my sincere apologies.
Called and made an appointment for my daughter. I was assured they took my insurance. We have the appointment. They took 3 different x-rays of my daughter because they had significant trouble. I was told my 5 year old needed a root canal at $1400. Upon leaving, I was told, actually no, they don't take my insurance. I asked when they knew, they stammered, with just an "oh sorry". I am now on the hook for $415. I got the x-rays from them, and only one small section was usable. Complete incompetence. I then went to Mercer Children's dentist - appointment and procedure for her cavities no root canal were a TOTAL of $500. This place is a terrible money grab. Run.
AVOID THIS DENTIST OFFICE AT ALL COSTS. The following happened while my family and I were patients: • A crown I had placed fell out. • I was double-billed for that crown. • I had to contact the office *many* times to correct the false charge. • An orthodontist led my husband and I into thinking that my son's missing tooth had to be corrected with braces. • Another orthodontist in the office later confirmed that braces had nothing to do with treatment for the missing tooth. • The office just sent me a bill for this consultation **2 years** after it occurred, and when I called them about it, they claimed I owed even more money than was detailed on the bill.
Dr. Schrader and her staff are great. From start to finish they did great job with my braces process. Thank you so much.
I love this dentist office. Amazing care and doctors. Dr. Rachel Thomas always does an amazing job with my teeth. Highly recommend this place!!
