My name is Christine Simpson. I provide a safe place for students age 6 to 96 to learn to play piano for enjoyment.
Each 30 minute lesson includes theory, technic, classical repertoire, sight reading, ear training. Group lessons and a recital are part of the lesson experience. The students also have opportunity to participate in competitions. I am part of the local music teachers association (OAMTA), Wisconsin Music Teachers Association (WMTA) and the national group also. This fall I several new practice programs that I will be implementing. I love teaching and love seeing students learn to love making music.
I believe in guiding students’ musical education in a positive and fun environment, and specialize in gearing the teaching method and music selection to the particular student’s learning style and tastes. I also understand the importance of regularly communicating with parents to help them understand their child’s musical needs, and coach them on how to assist in their child’s musical growth. My fervent belief is that with the involvement and encouragement of teacher and parent, a child’s (or adult’s!) life can be immeasurably enriched by learning to play music they love, and gaining a skill they will enjoy for the rest of their life.
