Sioux Falls VA good place! Great place for us old and the not so old veterans to get top level medical care. I got in about 20 minutes late, but once I got it it was quick. I was able to stay awake and watch my colonoscopy . The worst part was drinking the prep the night before. Not to mention the side effects of the prep. I only feel a little dizzy after the meds. The nurses, staff, doctors were GREAT, really great! Thanks yo all of them. Since its been 40+ hours since I’ve eaten. The problem is Sioux Falls has so many great and different places to eat.
I passed through Sioux Falls and used their VA facility. I have never experienced anything like it before or since. They have it together, getting me in on time. The staff was helpful and friendly. I wish the majority of VA facilities would operate half as good as this one.
I've been coming here since the 90's. They, meaning the regular staff, treat the veterans pretty good but when there are altercations the people a little higher up will smile at you and say things will be taken care of. I've seen it not taken care of. But the nurses and aids, post OP, top notch couldn't ask for better!! Also the different departments. They get the "Five stars"!
Years ago after I had left the Air Force I start going to the VA hospital in The twin cities in Minnesota. Long waiting times and what seemed to be disorganized, I struggled to take advantage of the my VA benefits. So I broke away and thought to myself through all the years I would not go to the VA again. We 40 years has pasted and many people would tell me to go to the VA you have the right to use their services as you served our country. So this past year I finally contacted the VA here in Sioux Falls Sd. I understood because of the pandemic appointments would be spread out and timely. That didn’t matter to me as I had heard great things about this VA hospital. Well I got myself reestablished with the VA they were very helpful in doing a thorough physical and help me with my needs. They also were helpful with my glasses and in a short time I received glasses that are so great. Thank you very much.
It has always been a friendly clean and efficient hospital caring for the honorable and special men and women who have served our great country in the armed services. These people deserve the 6and I believe they get the best at this facility. My friend and roommate passed away in that hospital after a relatively short battle against cancer and an attack of double pneumonia he wasn't strong enough to fight off. They kept him comfortable and pain free once it was clear that nothing more could be done to save his life. They also put on a very nice memorial service for him that really seemed sincere and not monotonous. I'm sad that only seven people were there to absorb the service and say goodbye to a truly good kind man. Well done V.A. Medical Center!
I have always received great service and normally friendly and yet professional staff. I’d give 5 but they are under staffed and there are waiting time s for appointments. It’s not their fault, it’s Congress and the President underfunding the VA and privatizing our care as fast as they can. Instead of having community VA clinics for our best care, they are sending us to high priced local doctors.
After getting care here for over 10 years now, I can't really think of any situations where I haven't received as good or better service than any other medical provider I've been to! The waits are always short, visits are efficient, the staff is down-to-earth and actually talks with you. I also notice that they treat all their patients with dignity and respect. I've been to the primary care clinic, radiology, surgical center, emergency room, and more, and all have been impressive...not the building, but the care and treatment. If you don't care that the hospital looks, well, government, instead of high-end, and you qualify for care here, I encourage you to give them a try...it seems that somehow the Sioux Falls VAMC has managed to buck all the things that put the VA in the national headlines so frequently...
The Sioux Falls VA is a well run machine. I have always received excellent care and services there. All the staff go out of their way to help you.
Could always use improvements. Communication needs to get better for the sake of the veterans.
Always a great place to visit with timely appointments. The staff is great and have always taken care of my needs. We are very lucky to have the caring staff that we do at the Veterans Affairs Hospital. I would give them more than 5 stars of I could.
