This slide and upper part of the kid zone is closed today. It would be really helpful if they mentioned closed attractions on their website. Everything seems run down and dirty, despite all they pairs of workers armed with brooms and dustpans walking around in pairs and talking to one another. It's a water park, and it will be fun, but I'm not overly impressed.
On the disappointing side - all the body slides were closed, and the one tower of four tube slides were operated very slowly, only one rider at a time down all four. I really like the water coaster since you can ride it solo, but there are only like 5 rafts and you have to stand in line for a long time for one, then walk up a TON of stairs since SF didn't feel the need to include a lift hill. Wave pool waves are pretty small, compared to others, and even the kid's splash tower was closed except for the bottom level. Attractions-wise, and operations-wise, it's disappointing.
Hurricane Harbor visit for the first time. Everyday hours during summer were 11-5 and the line moved pretty quick at open time to enter. Park was spread out nicely and food options were everywhere. A few of the rides were down for the day which was a bummer but plenty to do overall. Only gripe was the lines at some of the rides. Numerous tube rides had a wait time of 30-45 min which is no different than the six flags roller coasters but longer than expected overall. Being that the season pass isn’t expensive, I’m sure we’ll revisit again next summer.
I've had numerous sub par experiences with hurricane harbor over the past five years, but Sat June 3rd 2023 takes the cake for the worst. 2/3rds of the attractions were closed. Mat slides closed. Tube slides in the back of park by kids area closed. Kids slides closed. Lazy river also closed. Drop slides closed. Family raft slides both closed. Their new water coaster they advertise like crazy for, closed halfway through the day. What little that was open, had such a long queue, because everything else was closed, it wasn't even viable. By that I mean 60+ mins to get a raft and go down a slide. So anyone purchasing a day pass here basically got the equivalent of access to their neighborhood pool, since it was the only thing useable. Which also meant the pool was overcrowded. Amazing that such a large increase in season pass fees and they can't even come remotely close to staffing the park the first hot weather weekend day after memorial day weekend. Food lines were crazy long. We waited 19minutes for burgers being 2nd in line before the lunch rush, which means 30+ mins easy to get food during lunchtime. yes, I time my meals at six flags from time ordered at register on my receipt, because it's become the family standing joke after multiple previous 50+ minute waits for food.. I highly recommend to avoid this park until they get it together, or at least go in with the lowest possible expectations. Pics of a few of the many closed attractions.
The staff was very professional and polite, but unfortunately it didn’t make up for everything else the park was lacking. 9 out of 17 rides were closed due “lifeguard shortages” the park wasn’t very upkept as far as curb appeal. The park seemed a little aged and what’s presented online on the six flag site is a bit misleading with some of the rides. Also it cost $15 for ONE slice of pizza! Overall I wouldn’t go back. My kids that are 6 and 12 enjoyed themselves but they also enjoy playing in puddles lol. Save your money
Took over $100 for admission, then I couldn't sit down because I only had a platinum season pass and not a diamond elite season pass that allows you to purchase the right to sit in one of their many empty chairs. Would be less of a problem without needing to carry towels and all for many kids. Many guests trying to camp in one tiny section of free seating. This is not hyperbole or sarcasm, it is how this park works, even when all these reserved extra charge seats are empty. Biggest issue, as others have said, majority of the rides are closed with zero notice. For our visit, they closed the entire park at 2pm due to rain. They originally offered no compensation. Since posting this review and contacting their support team directly they have offered a pass for another day, but I have not accepted, as none of the kids involved want to return, plus it has gotten too cold for a waterpark at this point. We live about half an hour away and will never visit them again. Six flags definitely, but not Hurricane Harbor. What a SCAM. They should be ashamed of the way they leech from people. Anyone you see giving more than a 1 star review shouldn't be trusted.
There needs to be some kind of limited capacity for attendance. In the morning, when it first opened, everything had a reasonable wait time. Not even an hour later, the lines to go on anything were 1hr+ wait time. Pools, food lines, and even the lazy river had ridiculous lines. We spent the majority of our day waiting. I stood in a line for a slide at 11am and didn't get onto it until 2pm. It got to a point where none of us were having fun anymore and we left early. Literally packed like sardines everywhere you went. It might've just been a busy day, but I don't think I'll return here for a while. Also, the overall cleanliness of the park isn't great. Pools were a little cloudy and had lots of hair in them which grossed me out.
Horrible experience ever. 3 times out of four we visited this summer, more than half of the “attractions”/slides were closed! They charge a fortune, you drive 45minutes and only here you’re notified the rides are closed. Last time we tried to call the day before the guy had no clue and absolutely useless and wasn’t even able to contact the local facility. We came here and again only 4 rides were open. There is no customer service and no care obviously why would they when you get less staff and charge the same! As a minimum they could have put a note on the website but again why would you if $$$….
More than half the slides are closed & they’re operating the open tube rides SUPER inefficiently. Not worth it all. Don’t waste your money! They have no excuse, the tickets/passes should be discounted for every slide/ride that isn’t operating for false advertising. Also they closed the entrance so you can’t go through from six flags.. this place just keeps going down hill. They can and need to do better.
I really enjoy this water park. There are many attractions suitable for all ages & accommodate all personalities whether you want to relax in a pool, lazy river, wave pool, or go on slides which allow for all ages. Multiple slides can still accommodate younger children w/ an adult or a sibling friend who meets the height requirement. I’d also personally like to thank an employee named Will, who I believe is a manager. When closing he ensured my 2 little girls were not sent down after they were in line prior to close. He went out of his way to make sure they were able to go on the slide they were in line for & when they got sent down he made sure they went right back up & got to experience the slide they were in line for. It’s rare to find employees who care & are willing to take that extra few minutes to pay attention & make sure my kids got what they came for. THANK YOU WILL!!!
