Could be an amazing place but it's pretty disgusting. You can almost feel the grime from the seats seeping into your clothes when you sit on the benches. There's even spilled soda on the ceiling. The skating rink is dirty. I told my kids not to use their skates outside because it would tear up the rink. But I don't think it would matter here. Also, I do not allow my kids to use the bathrooms here. Not sure what the boys bathrooms look like, but there are no doors or curtains on the stalls in the girls bathroom. That's a big problem, especially if you're an adult needing to use the restroom. You can't have children running past you while you're trying to use the bathroom. So if my kids have to use the bathroom, we leave early.
I don't understand how this place rents skates that haven't been serviced in 10 years and actually charges you for them. Horrible skates. Floor is poorly maintained.
I used to go here all the time as a kid. Skating is making a comeback now and I got so excited to take my little brothers to the rink that I felt was a big part of my childhood. I quickly realized that this place is no longer the fun place I used to go. The rink is constantly policed by a person who sits in the music booth to the point where it isn’t fun. The floor itself is absolutely AWFUL and not at all worth the money to skate on. Boards need to be replaced, gum is stuck to it, and it looks like it’s been a decade since it’s been properly waxed. It is also now very child focused… and there were lots of little kids there without parents. I mean like toddlers… it was a bit disturbing. The rental skates wheels also needed to be replaced and tightened on all of our skates. The lights on the place are very bright which takes away from the classic rink vibe. Overall not a great experience and would not at all recommend, which is sad because at one time this place meant a lot to me. I hope someone takes over and restores it to its former glory.
I haven't been to a skating rink since I was a kid. I was sad to learn that this location does not have Rollerblades, they only have skates. I can blade, but I can't really skate. Being that I've never been here before it seemed like my group was the odd ones out, everyone else seemed to know each other. The skate booth is run by children which was very interesting. I was told I have big feet lol. Im a size 8 but OK. I refused to use the bathroom as there are no doors on any of the stalls. I find that very odd for a female restroom.
I've been going here for over 40 years. This is a good place for birthday parties too.
Place is filthy and way outdated. Has wood up in place of glass door, no doors in restrooms, carpet is disgusting.. wouldn’t recommend…
Gaffney is a small town and I’m moving from Columbia to attend college there. I haven’t checked it out yet, but is there a reason why their only opened 3 days a week? It’s also summer as well so do they not to summer skate hours?? I’m coming from the Skateland down here and their opened everyday, with a noon and evening session. This is going to be a big change. Please open more hours to the people who are serious about skating!!
Only been here a few times for birthday parties. It's in need of improvements, repairs and updating. Not super clean. Friendly enough staff though.
Great place to have family parties and fundraisers.
My ten year old recently started going on the weekends and she likes friday nights more than Saturday nights. She said she loves getting out of the house but itd be nice if someone there could teach her to skate hey, that's an idea. She says the floors are pretty dirty which makes them somewhat dangerous when skating. She says the snacks are pretty good but cost too much. $1.50 for a cup of water!!!. Overall, its definitely a good place to go skate and have some fun for a reasonable price.
