They play urban and Caribbean music. It’s a nice spot to just chill. The chicken wings are really good. Sometimes we go just to pick up the chicken to go. But trying to reach them by phone to place an order is damn near impossible.. Parking: During the day it’s residential permit parking and there is a parking lot adjacent to the building but you will be towed parking there. The street parking is free when you are able to find an available spot.

This is the best chicken I ever had in my life. I’m from Cleveland but was told I could not come to Boston and not come here. It did not disappoint. I had the 3 piece chicken dinner.Food: 5/5

I am absolutely LIVID, burning in rage. I’ve been coming here for a long time and the food I received on Tuesday 5/2 tasted sour and atrocious. They need to change the Mac & cheese chef. And my fall off the bone chicken was still on the bone. Highly disappointed

Slade's Bar & Gill has been a consistent and long-time establishment for great jazz, delicious southern soul food, and good music. 'Tuesday Night Showcase' orchestrated by local music producer and pianist, Frank Wilkins see We Jazz Up..., host an evening where local singers come to stretch their cords, and spread musical jam on hunger patrons. I'm sharpening my notes and lifting my nerve!

The Chicken Wings, Catfish Nuggets and Fried Okra are a MUST try. The Coco Loco'rita drink is strong and absolutely delicious. We were visiting from Ohio and we are soooo glad we stopped in!!! We had the best time and slammed on the most delicious food.Food: 5/5

This place is legit Southern food. I grew up in Texas and this is the best catfish and sides I've had in my 20 years living in Boston. No frills or fusion – just straight-up home-style cooking. The catfish is battered perfectly, the greens are savory and flavorful, and the sweet potatoes are pure candy. I would eat here nightly if I could!

I ordered a 12 piece of chicken and a side of fried okra. I placed my order at 6:14 PM Friday, October 14, 2022. I had to wait 1hr & 10 mins for me to receive my order. To compensate for my wait they gave me a side of macaroni and corn bread. Why did I give them 2 stars. Let’s just say my chicken was half done. I ordered a 12 piece and I only received 10 pieces of chicken wings.. I will never ever visit this establish ever again in life.

I ordered catfish nuggets for takeout and when I got the food home, I opened up the container to find that they had deep fried the fish with the skin still on, rendering it inedible. Who does that? If I’m paying almost $20 for something, I want it cooked correctly. Also, no corn bread with your expensive meal? That’s cheap.Food: 1/5

I get nervous with establishments with one entry. But it’s worth the risk for the chicken and sides. It is hit or miss however, sometimes it’s a hit and sometimes the food is a miss. The entertainment is a B+ but overall a decent night out.
