If I could give more stars, I would. This is an amazing store with a great selection of mattresses and furniture. I got a great non-toxic mattress, bed frame, kapok pillows and sheets for a great price. Sonia is very knowledgeable and friendly, providing a wonderful shopping experience that you will not get anywhere else. She offers a "white glove" service that handles all the logistics of delivery and assembly, so I literally didn't have to do anything, making this process completely stress-free. Even if you don't need a mattress, this is a cool store to visit, as it features a lot of products and events from local artists.
This is a really cool shop for beds, furniture, and local art. The staff I met were kind, patient and knowledgeable. They helped me find my perfect new mattress, pillows and sheets at a great price, and it was delivered to my apartment the next day. Also, Sonia was making hot cocoa and shared some with me. It was delicious. Go check this place out! Even if you aren't shopping for a bed or furniture, it's just a cool place. And you might find a local artist you want to support. EDIT: After reading other reviews, I realized I misspelled Sonia's name. Sorry!! :D
Sonia was one of the main reasons we purchased a wallbed at sleep bedder. She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. My wife would not let me walk out of that store without buying from this establishment! We also received a quality product and extremely happy. I would highly recommend visiting this store and your shopping will end here.
Sonia is fantastic! She is one-of-a-kind, and it truly reflects in her business. She supports local artisans, healers, musicians, artists by hosting regular events, and providing a platform for those to sell their items pop-up events, consignment. I bought a fabulous organic mattress at such a great value. It was a floor sample, and I lucked out, it was only on the floor for a few months. She stored my mattress, sheets, and bed protector for a month, as I was waiting to move into my new place. We spend about 30% of our life resting, dreaming, rejuvenating, it only made sense to me that I should invest in a fabulous mattress with a warranty. Thank you Sonia for always being such a hospitable, radiant soul! <3
Absolutely love this place. I've purchased 3 mattresses from here and couldn't be happier. I've also purchased wonderful art from here, as well as attended yoga classes, acupuncture, seasonal dinner parties and full moon festivities. What Sonia the owner has done with this space is incredible. Drop in, say hello...I can almost guarantee you won't leave empty-handed/hearted.
Sleep Bedder is so much more than a retail space. Upon entering you will discover that this space is like no other here in San Diego. The emphasis is on providing a service and experience that will make you feel good about yourself and about buying with a social conscience. Most of the items are from local artisans and companies, which helps us to support those in our lovely community. The owner, Sonia, is such a beautiful person and she has infused her beauty and her vision though out this unique store. It's clear that she values supporting her fellow small business owners and strives to provide enriching community events such as community acupuncture nights, workshops, music and poetry events and events that promote personal growth and ways to nurture your health. Each time I walk into the store I find something to add to my repertoire of self care products or artsy jewelry pieces. I feel good about shopping here and it never fails that I am greeted with a smile and a hug from Sonia. This business is a model for those trying to create a supportive community vibe and rewarding conscientious consumers with high quality products.
After disastrous shopping experiences at the chain bedding stores, it was a delight to work with Sonia. We called in a bit of a panic, needing a same-day mattress delivery. Sonia helped us select the right mattress to meet our needs and within our budget. The mattress was delivered and set up within hours. I feel so lucky we found Sonia, she is a GEM. *** UPDATE Fed 2017 *** We LOVED the comfortable mattress, wonderful service and value so much that we decided to purchase a second mattress!
Sleep Bedder is the best place in San Diego to buy a bed, hands down. I’ve become so accustomed to impersonal service at big box stores and chains, that walking into Sleep Bedder was a breath of fresh air literally, I took a deep breath upon entering. Sonia and crew provided excellent customer service, even offering me a fresh cup of tea as I tried out beds. There was not one hint of pushy salesmanship here, and I was even encouraged to sleep on it and come back. The delivered and set up quickly and professionally as well. I have finally, in my mid-30s, seen the light on how important it is to get a good night’s sleep, as we spend a third of our lives doing so. I have had this bed about a month now and never slept so well in my life. I also had the privilege to talk for a bit to Stephen, who does a lot of the in-house woodwork, about creating a custom bed frame with reclaimed wood. Even if you don’t need a new bed, you should check out their other offerings, including in-house yoga. If you live in North Park, or anywhere in the surrounding San Diego area, this is a must check out. As another reviewer said, “shop local, shop small”. It’s a pleasure to support great people doing great things and improving the community with good business.
This is hands-down the best place to buy non-toxic Mattresses and bedding in San Diego. Sonia was super helpful, sweet and just fun to chat with. The shop is a work of art and the products featured are from many local vendors in San Diego and California. We bought an amazing organic/non-toxic mattress and a couple of kapok stuffed pillows and couldn't be happier. Steve was also a big help, helping load up the vehicle. We'll certainly be back!
Sleep Bedder is customer service to a whole new level! Sonia rocks and will take care of you. What I love about this place is that it doesn't feel like a huge retailer. You can really relax and truly test out the selection. You don't have the feeling of being treated like a process. Even if you're not looking for a mattress, make a visit and hang out!
