My experience in the sleep study was terrific, but it is literally impossible to get anyone on the phone regarding appointments or insurance -- and there is no way to leave a message that I've been able to figure out. The phone options are a maze of dead-ends. It's sad that such a sound medical staff is literally cut off from the patients who depend on their services. I know people who could use a job who are perfectly capable of answering telephones. You might consider hiring some more help.
While doing the study, the personnel were great. She was very courteous and informative. However’ if you try to call and expect any kind of help, you’d have more luck on the Titanic.
I really enjoyed my visit to the office and my appointment with Dr. Slattery. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately this practice never responds to voicemails and the only way to get them to answer the phone is the click “1” on the phone prompt that says “if you are an existing patient.” I had to call that line to get my initial appointment scheduled, because after leaving 2 voicemails and waiting almost 2 weeks no one contacted me. Don’t bother leaving a voicemail. Keeping calling and pressing “1” until someone answers. You may get put on hold for a while, so be prepared.
Excellent care! Was referred here by another doctor, and I am so grateful. The doctor thoroughly checks me out at every visit, and is getting to the root of my problems since my sleep apnea is very mild. Very short wait times thus far, for my visits. Professional office staff that organized all the sleep studies and hospital tests for me and worked with my schedule.
I was amazed at how luxurious the sleep suite was. I have stayed at hotels far less beautiful than this and though I was blessed. Plenty of room to spread out, exceptionally comfortable bed, nice place to shave, good shower. Most of all, the two wonderful b"angels" who made my stay the best part of the experience. I have unfortunately forgotten their names but they were great teachers, wonderful hosts, kind, professional, well educated, dedicated to their work. Even though this "calling" of theirs interrupts their own sleep schedule, they care enough to give the very best. Ray Penn
My husband went for a return visit and I went as a new patient. This was a doctors visit only. We were told to come at 12:45 pm for paper work. No one was in the office until 1 pm. Our appointment was at 1 pm. We didn’t even see the doctor until almost 2pm. We were in the same room by my request. The nurse practitioner spent only 10 minutes with each of us and seemed hurried. I thought it was strange that they would bill us instead of taking our $45 copayment. We got a bill for my husband and it was $159.30. I’ve been on the phone all morning trying to take care of this. But it’s basically because they are an office in a hospital, then they can lie and say they take your insurance but charge you as an outpatient. Shame on them!!! That’s food off my table.
The staff was very helpful and professional both during the sleep studys and the office visit. The reason I am only giving two stars is that my sleep study was over a month ago. They ask for two weeks before they "will call you with results" I have never been called. I have called them six times and can't get any person to talk to me who knows anything. Everytime I call the sleep study technician line, no one answers and I leave a message with my contact info included but still no call backs. It is getting very frustrating. They have told me I have OSA but I can't get a CPAP machine until I talk to them. Uggggghhhh!!!
The doctors there are overbooked and overworked. They can not refill prescription on time. Usually it takes couple weeks for refills . They put me on Adderall and it takes one to 2 weeks for the refills to be called in. This is not good. About to go get some on streets .
I am giving one star, because the review tool won't let me give 0 stars. This is the worst medical office, with which I have ever done business. I had an at-home sleep study, as per my insurance company's preference. I was diagnosed with OSA. They billed my insurance with two different bills, one for the at-home sleep study unattended, which was paid in full, and one for an EEG, for $2,008.00. I called billing to dispute the medical claim and was given the run around by both UTMC and the Sleep disorder clinic for some reason, they are unable to communicate with each other, even though they are in the same building. The UT folks told me the bill was coded and error and not to pay it, however, I started receiving collector's calls, a few months later. I continued to communicate with UTMC to try and get things resolved and they kept assuring mew that they would fix the issue. I have now received a summons to court, by the debt collector. I am now acquiring legal representation, in order to not only defend myself and my family, but to also counter sue, in order to pay for the cost of all of this. Never use this facility.
Can never reach anyone by phone in the main office. Took forever just to schedule my study. My initial visit lasted all of 2 min and it was just to ask me did I want a one day study or break it up into two visits and I am sure I will be paying a arm and a leg for that short talk. But the bad thing in for what you pay you can NEVER get anyone on the phone.
