Tried out Slip56 on a whim on a Friday evening. The place was bustling and while the food was good and overall the place was aesthetically pleasing there were several times throughout dinner that we thought our table was forgotten about. Also, it can be a bit rowdy, while we were seated inside half of our party was facing the windows and on the patio one guy threw his cigarette butt which went down the back of another seated customer's shirt collar resulting in the offending man getting punched. What a time!
Overall it was a great place for date night with my Lady. We had the Blackened Mahi Tacos and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. The tacos were stellar. The chicken was cooked perfectly but needed a bit more seasonings. The staff were cool even under duress. The inside has good design and decor. We would go there again.
The vibe of this restaurant was awesome. We ordered a seafood linguine. The shrimps were not very fresh you can tell the shrimps has been frozen for a while. My friends ordered burgers, quoted their comments "the meat was dry". However, the tortellini was really tasty. I also love the idea of putting a few slices of bread around the pasta! Overall, you may not order a whole table of food that they all satisfy your taste buds. But consider the price and the vibe they provided, I still do think it is a restaurant worth coming!
Staff was amazing, especially our waitress. I was a little worried about the type of food as it was still early and slower. Food was amazing and portions huge, especially for such reasonable pricing. Tried 3 different Martinis. All were delicious, all though the pomegranate was my favorite. Wish I remembered our waitress name. We just left after a few hours and she was amazing the whole time. Checking in without being over bearing and extremely helpful. Definitely will be back.
I went to slip56 tonight on a whim. The place is almost always packed and was lucky to get a seat at the bar. The bartender service is different depending on who you get. As is in most places. However, the first guy gave me a sample of the beer I wanted to try and never came back. The next 2 were very welcoming and accommodating. I ordered a Brandy Old Fashioned sour and wings to start. The wings were tossed in their house blended sauce of BBQ and Buffalo. They were fantastic. The Old Fashioned was very good as well. Next, I ordered the seafood linguini and a Brandy Old Fashioned sweet. I guess I prefer the sour. The Linguini was very good. I enjoyed the meal and the conversation with the bartenders. The atmosphere here is modern. Very open and plenty of space. A few tvs in the seating area for those interested in sports. Overall, I would come back. The food and drinks are good. Vegetarian options: They have salads on the menu. Parking: Athough there is a lot of parking, it is limited. With it being downtown, you may need to walk a little bit. Wheelchair accessibility: Place does not have steps.
My husband and I went here last night. Wonderful atmosphere. Great drinks and amazing food! We shared the garlic parmasen wings and the prosciutto pinsa! Both were great Our servervwas Wonderful and checked on us often. A definite place to go!!Food: 5/5
The Waitress was great and attentive. We set outside cause it was a beautiful day. The drinks and food came out right away, and it was delicious. We had the pinsa. Definitely worth a try.Food: 5/5
Bland food horrible waitress eye rolls, walk away, avoidance & snarky comments and we STILL tipped her she hates her job and us I guess... Visited on 7/30/2023 it's not even Kenosha good -meaning less than average to begin with. All these good food reviews are confusing we had fries, chicken wings, steak tacos & shrimp Alfredo _ all trash.
It was crowded when I went which was awesome to see. Great food and super friendly staff. If you go on the weekend it will take a little longer to get your food but it’s worth it. Clean facilities and a great nautical but modern atmosphere.Food: 5/5
5+1 My wife and I stopped in 'Slip 56' on a lark. Nice decorum, open layout, nice-sized clean bathrooms. The serving staff was friendly, and running around like chickens with their heads cut off, LOL. The drinks were cold the food was hot and very very good. My wife had the calamari salad with delicious balsamic vinaigrette fresh garden tomatoes and fresh greens. My pub Burger was truly a half pound, extremely juicy and tasty. A very enjoyable experience.
