SDSU chapter of Slow Food working to bring local and organic food on campus and connecting the San Diego community through the love and pleasure of food.
SDSU's chapter of world-movement, Slow Food. At SDSU, we promote good, clean, and fair food: Farming and processing methods of food are sustainable, workers are getting fair wages, and the good food community is unified. Here at SDSU, we focus on volunteer and community garden opportunities, educational seminars/workshops, and field trips to local wholesome food markets/producers.
Slow Food SDSU seeks to strengthen the community at San Diego State University by making sustainable changes in our food system. Through grassroot organizing, we will make the relationship between the SDSU community and the local community stronger. This includes creating pleasure in the food we eat around people and traditions as well as the environment that produces our food. Our focus is to inform the public about how to create a sustainable and equitable food system.
