Smallwood's Firearms

I just visited this morning and was pleasantly surprised. Mr Smallwood took the time to help me research new reloading equipment. Even though I wasn't buying anything he spent time helping me understand what was the best value not just for cost but also for time spent reloading versus range time. This is a lost art and for that I am grateful. I'll definitely be doing business here.

Sandy is about as down to earth and honest as they come. It's hard to find many people like him out there any more. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and very fair. After dealing with some of the larger and more well known shops in the area and being frustrated, my experience in dealing with Smallwood Firearms was a relief and what I was looking for. His selection and inventory was shocking.

This business is the best around. The owner did all he could to find the exact gift I needed for my husband. When he couldn’t get it in on time, he called around and found it for me at a competitor just to make sure I was able to get the perfect gift for my husband. And I still and always will do business with this establishment.

The fella that owns the place is a stand up guy. I’ve been in a few times looking for specific items and was impressed with his service and selection. He had some neat used guns that aren’t seen often and at good prices. It’s not bass pro it’s a legit gun shop. Not to mention there’s something awesome about a man with a gun store in his shed :

My first time in Smallwood today and I loved it. Took my three year old son in there and had a blast looking around. He had all the ammunition I needed! Plenty of guns too! Go see them if you want a good local place!

Let me first say, the owner is fantastic. I enjoy my visits there and bought a few of my guns from here. Now I was a little disappointed when the gun I wanted and had the money to buy had a price tag of $999 but wouldn’t sell it to me for that price because he stated that he auctions them off for twice the money and refused to sell it to me for listed price. I did buy a gun during the visit but when I looked up the serial number to said gun it’s dated in 2016 so now I’m disappointed that I paid retail price for a rifle that is 4 years old. With that being said and this issue has nothing to do with the owner is the rifle I purchased shoots 2 feet low at 50 yards. I have adjusted the rear sight as high as it’s allowed and still shoots low, better but still low enough to miss the kill zone of a dear. With the way things are right now I can’t get a response from Marlin customer service to get the rifle repaired or what not. I’m not happy buying old stock for full retail.

I've lived in the area for 6 years now and I'm kicking myself for not knowing about this hidden gem sooner! After reading some reviews I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but when I walked through the door I was Blown away! Sandy and his collection/selection of Reloading Components, Tools, Ammo, Firearms, Optics, and accessories will have you questioning any other firearms retailer. Most Importantly to me He has a very Down to earth attitude coupled with knowledge from years of experience. If he doesn't have something, he can get it for you. He'll check prices right there for you on anything. His prices are fair to say the least as you'll be hard pressed to find some of what he has locally, so once you take in account shipping, haz-mat, and big box retail mark ups.. Smallwood's hard to beat. His Transfers do cost $40 for both long/short, but with the crazy low prices you can find online these days and the fact that he is a small business.. I don't blame him for asking for such, I could only imagine having to juggle all the transfers, orders, inventory, and retail work. Bring CASH, Not only will you find something you'll want... But there's a 3% card fee. Tell any firearms enthusiast you know to check out Smallwood Firearms. I wish him the best of luck and I hope he stays open for a few more years, he mentioned retirement coming :

My first time visiting this business today. Good selection but my 2 stars is because the owner said I couldnt buy a $40 item unless i spent a minimum of $350.00. Never seen that before so i will do buisness elswhere.

This place is owned by a retired Sherriff's deputy and is really out of the way, but it is worth it. I thought that my GPS had gotten us lost because it is a shop behind this guy's house and it didn't look like a place a store would be, but I was wrong. He has a great selection of handguns, shotguns, rifles, reloading equipment and gear. I bought a Smith & Wesson MP 9mm for almost $100 cheaper than a much larger store in Newnan. The owner is very knowledgeable and courteous, I highly recommend this place!

Mr. Smallwood has sold me firearms with a scope and now ammunition, not once was I ever disappointed! Wonderful folks
