This place was awesome! The service we received was outstanding. They are a high end/high quality butcher shop. When you come here expect to spend a little more but rest assured knowing that you're getting quality products for your money. I wanted two dry aged Ribeye steaks and the butcher came out personally to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it cut. Then came back out to make sure I was satisfied with my steaks. We also got four of the seasoned hamburger patties and some Pimento Cheese. Everything was excellent. These were the first dry aged steaks I've ever eaten and they were delicious. The burgers didn't shrink at all like the ones you get in the freezer section of your local grocery store and were perfectly seasoned. The Pimento Cheese was delicious as well. I know this was a long review but it was warranted because of the level of service and quality of the product purchased. Please stop by and give them a try if you're ever in the area.
We did a private chef’s dinner 8 courses with wine pairings and it was incredible! We have been a customer for a long time for meats and other products, but I loved the chef’s dinner.
Fantastic deli. Everything on casual dine-in menu is great and the steak and wine selection for taking home is amazing as well. Recommend for a casual lunch or for picking up a fancy steak dinner to cook at home.
Wow! So many wonderful things to say about Smiley Brothers foods and menu selections!!! Everything from the house-made sauces, cured meats, breads and sides are incredible! The beef fat fries dipped in homemade ranch are not to be missed. The club, cris’s ham melt and pastrami are insanely delicious. Pasta salad is my fav! Oh my I cannot get pics because we eat too fast! Do yourself a favor and make the drive for one of the best sandwiches in the south! I also failed to mention that last but not least by any means are the wonderful, kind and welcoming staff and employees! Everyone makes sure that every one is 110% satisfied! They are so accommodating to every guest!! So much love for this place!
Went there for lunch today and the service was exceptional aswell as the food. The burger was fat and juicy and the fries were perfectly cooked and the dipping ranch was out of this world. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu:
Restaurant needs to work on their pricing - I had a sandwich and a drink there yesterday for $18.39 including 15% gratuity - if you wanted to add chips and a drink you were over $20 for your take out sandwich??? The amount of meat and cheese and quality didn't add up - 1 star on pricing and amount of food received - the service staff was nice - Sorry Smiley Brothers first time there and won't go back. I like to support small business but this was ridiculous.
Okay, I've heard a little bit about this place from word of mouth. Didn't realize they prepared food for you to eat on site. I thought they were only a butcher shop type of grocery store. They are a restaurant, and that is why I came by to try them out. I had a burger, and wow it was really good. It is a big burger, fresh, thick, and juicy. There are other sandwich style meals they offer with a variety of different meats and veggies. I will be back to get some cuts of meat to try out and to try some of the other sandwiches too. I have only had it the one time, but I would recommend it based on what I have had so far. Looking forward to trying some other stuff too!!
The best Muffaletta ever! I’ve had several that have been deemed “best muffaletta in alabama” and this is by far the best! It can be pricey but you get what you pay for, quality meat, quality sandwiches, and even better service. They never disappoint!
I worked in New Orleans for many years back in the 90’s and had my share of Central Grocery muffulettas. Yours is spot on as good if not better!!! Can’t wait to order one again. Highly recommended! Thanks.
I feel like my original review was too modest for the quality I've continually received from here throughout the years. The staff are excellent and always pleasant. The quality of the food, wine and house made items are always exceptional and I always come away pleased with the results. I can't recommend this highly enough.
