Smith Pain Emporium is dedicated to achieving a new paradigm in the management of pain. There is a better way to ease pain without "eating pills"
Smith Pain Emporium's desire is to help those that are looking for an alternative to drugs that have the potential of causing a heart attack or stroke or has the potential of a person developing cancer or having thoughts of suicide all in an attempt to ease their physical pain.
It is true that doctors go to school for a long time in order to learn their craft. It is also true that the first tenet of their profession is "do no harm" and yet, they seem to betray that tenet by prescribing stuff that can cause the things mentioned above.
Yes, there is a place for a drug. But there should also be an understanding that some things can be handled without someone having to lose a loved one in order for that loved one to begin to enjoy living again.
Smith Pain Emporium offers a true way for those that are suffering from chronic or intermittent pain to relieve themselves of that pain and not have to spend gobs of money or endanger their health further in order to do that.
I am not a doctor but, if the first thing he or she wants to give you is a pill for what you have gone to them for, you need to look elsewhere. I like the first tenet of their profession which is, "do no harm" and so even though I am not a doctor my mission is to eradicate as much as possible the "eating of pills" for the relief of pain that can be addressed by applying Real Time Pain Relief. And since the first tenet of medicine is "do no harm", Here is a recent article that supports my mission:
A recent survey was conducted in order to discover if the last decade of prescription drugs have helped put a dent in the national chronic pain epidemic. G. Caleb Alexander, co-director of Johns Hopkins Center for Drug and Safety Effectiveness stated, “We felt it was important to examine whether or not this epidemic has coincided with improved identification and treatment of pain.”
After analyzing data trends from non-cancer pain patients from 2000-2010 they found that there had not been a change in the number of visits by people seeking pain relief. Lead author of the study, Matthew Daubresse stated, “We found that not only have the rates of treated pain not improved, but in many cases, use of safer alternatives to opioids, such as medicines like ibuprofen and acetaminophen, have either stayed flat or declined.”
He also noted, “This suggests that efforts to improve the identification and treatment of pain have backfired, due to over-reliance on prescription opioids that have caused incredible morbidity and mortality among patients young and old alike.”
