Don’t order cakes from their bakery! Two of my children have birthdays a month apart from eachother and I decided to come here this year for their birthday cakes. I went to pick up my sons cake last month and it was TERRIBLE. It looked awful. The frosting was smeared all over the cake box and lid, the sides of the cake were smooshed up against the lid and the decorations on top were horrendous. The writing looked as if a toddler wrote it. I told them that it was unacceptable and they offered to remake the cake and have it ready for the next day. I went back the next day and the manager offered me $3 dollars off of the original price as a way of saying sorry. The remade cake looked just as bad but I ended up just taking it because we had no other choice as my sons birthday was the next day. We went back for groceries a few days later and they put the original cake out on the shelf for $20, I took a photo of it so I could show my husband. Today was my daughters birthday party and we went to pick up her cake this morning. It looked really beautiful on the outside so I was pleasantly surprised and happily paid the almost $50. The instructions for the cake we asked for were taped to the cake box so I was assumptive that they made it the way we requested. Well we get home and do her party and cut into the cake and the inside is WRONG. We asked for the cake to be a double layer with whipped frosting in between the layers because that’s what my daughter requested…. Simple instructions weren’t followed even though they were right in front of the decorators face. A lot of the bakery employees are rude and not people persons at all. I will be going back for a refund and won’t be ordering cakes ever again from this bakery. The cake looked pretty, yes but it’s the principle of the matter & they didn’t follow simple instructions and that’s not okay especially when I’m still expected to pay full price for the item. Walmart does a better job with sheet cakes & I’ll take my chances with them for our next cake need. I don’t suggest ordering a custom cake from here. I’m just not fond of this store anymore. The lines are insane, too many people come here and the food is subpar to say the LEAST. We repeatedly have problems with Starbucks overcharging us as well and it’s just not worth it anymore.
I love your grocery pickup service. But you either need to hire more people to handle demand or allow less people to schedule the same pickup times. A 45 minute wait defeats the idea of its convenience.
Updated today: I go here for good reason... it's easy on the budget and I can get what I need. Once you know your way around, your out of there before you know it. Get it done, then go have fun! This place has everything from your normal Grocery Agenda to Kayaks. I'm not sure about the Kayaks but I think if I'd gone down the right isle I would have found one. You just have to start and check off your list as you go... The best thing going, if you go...is the signs over the isles.. they guide you...that's where the neck strain comes into play. So figure on spending some time here whether you want to or not. It's worth it... I think??? Hahaha. There are exits....just go north.
Smiths Marketplace has a lot of good deals. Through the store and the restrooms are store clean and well maintained as well as Parking lot and Gas station. Employees are friendly and helpful. They have a great verity of produce, meats, sea food, bakery items, sushi’s and cheese as well as coffees.
Store STILL closes its northern registers at 9?? You know you're located in Saratoga Springs the most jam packed city in Utah right? I just left without buying anything cause I didn't want to wait in a 45 minute line since you only had 1 PERSON WORKING!! And still is at least $1 or 2 on average more expensive than Walmart for the SAME items. I avoid this store unless I have no other choice. As soon as Saratoga gets a real grocery store that sells decent meat, this place will not exist in my life. UPDATE: Brand new $5 bag of grapes. Filled with mold!!! Seriously? Why do people think Smiths is better than Walmart again?
Love this smiths but over the last year the changes management has made recently have made going here a very bad experience over and over again. Check out lines take 20-30 min to get through. Self checkout is so long its wrapping around multiple isles. It’s like they only staff a handful of people after 7 pm. It’s the night before Mother’s Day and your store is packed and lines are all the way back to the frozen section yet you’re closing down registers. Management needs to figure this out.
Everyone's very nice here. And it's clean and organized. It's awesome. I only give it a 4 because lots of time it's only like 1 register open and the rest are self check out. So sometimes it takes a crazy amount of time to check out.
I always end up in a bad mood when I shop here. Items out of stock, always shorthanded, takes forever to get through the lines. You gotta watch the prices because they don’t scan the same as they advertise on the shelf. Employees don’t seem happy. The restrooms are trashed and falling apart. The layout of the store is just odd. I miss the old small store. I also wish there was more competition in Saratoga Springs as far as grocery stores go.
Ill start by saying that I typically like kroger stores, I think they have good prices and deals and usually have a good selection and are clean and well maintained. This store also feels this way, though it gets extremely busy at times. The reason for my low review is mainly from a recent experience at the store. I was purchasing items and attempting to shop with 3 small children who were not acting great. Once my items were retrieved, I arrived at the store checkout area to find only 2 lanes open with actual cashiers working, the remaining were self-checkouts. The 2 lanes were very long so I decided to try the self-checkout. As I was scanning and bagging my items, the machine suddenly stopped and said assistance was on the way. I looked around and the attendant was helping another individual. It took a couple minutes to resolve his issue and she then turned to help another person who was having issues after my machine stopped working. This whole time I was trying to keep restless kids under control while waiting. When she came over to help, she said I needed to watch a video on the screen. Then a video appeared on the screen showing myself holding a bag of baby carrots. The attendant said it looks like it the machine thinks you may have missed scanning the carrots. We then looked and the carrots were indeed scanned and on my receipt. She then said, okay you are good and reset the machine so I could continue scanning. It doesnt sound like much, but I was basically accused of shoplifting by a machine and inconvenienced for something I had not done. I have never shoplifted and I understand that it happens and these are measures to help prevent it, but I cant help but feel offended that I have to undergo this as an honest person. Maybe you could save the cost of this technology by actually having cashiers to run all the closed register lanes so customers wouldnt be forced to use the self-checkouts. Im already doing the cashiers job for them, and then get accused of not scanning an item by a machine and have to be inconvenienced for it.
I came here to get gas because I heard it was cheap. Upon walking into the store I immediately had gas. I didn't expect it to be so quick. I needed to get some other things while I was there, so I didn't leave right away. Before I could get out of the store I had to let out some gas big mistake. I thought it was going to be silent, but it was so loud there was an echo and the end was super squeaky. It also burned my nostrils. I would avoid getting gas here.
