Although the rec center itself is a blessing to the community, it is extremely disappointing that the pool is not heated and was absolutely freezing. The splash pad was closed and I had to keep a close eye on the kids because the life guards were not paying attention at all. I appreciated seeing all of the kids playing basketball, and the locker rooms were very clean! If the pool was warmer this would have been a great experience.
Nice place for a swim or fun water day with the kids. A pool and a splash pad are available. The splash pad water is nice and warm. Ample parking but a bit confusing on the entrance if the side doors are open. Locker rooms seem a bit small but otherwise a pretty cool place.
Some pros we enjoy : the indoor walking track is very nice and it’s fun to see the various activities taking place there while walking and running. There are cloths and sanitizing cleaner for the gym equipment, and the equipment room is never crowded. The dance classes are a major plus and fun. There is a childcare room where children can hang out while you work out. If your child is fussy they will locate / call for you over the speaker it’s hard to hear in the pool though. They have the best splash pad around, and it’s the only indoor one I know of. The hours are excellent for the times we like to go. They do community events and summer camps for kids. They are the only pool near here that offers Alligator Swim Lessons, which seem really great. There is a free library bookshelf in the lobby. The staff are always friendly, helpful and attentive. These aspects are absolutely worth 5 stars and more! Some cons : A swim lane is not reserved for paying customers. Often when my spouse comes to swim the lanes are all taken by a swim practice or if he is already swimming he will be asked to vacate the only lane left so that practice can also use that lane. It’s frustrating because being able to swim a lap is the main reason we have a membership. We are discussing closing our membership, as a result, and this makes me sad. We don’t mind waiting for a lane to become available if it is shared with the public, but if the last lane is being utilized by swim practice then it will not become available until practice is over. The membership should be discounted during constant swim closures season, due to competitions and practices. We would happily keep our membership if this was the case, it’s difficult to justify paying for a year when we cannot use it for the full year, since practices close the lanes in the late afternoon and evening, typically a time that families enjoy the pool due to work schedules. The consistent closures go on for what seems like a month or two in the winter. Also, the dance schedules are only available by paper in the lobby, they are not posted online anywhere. Edit : I want to update my review. I have seen that they are making an effort this summer to keep people informed about when swim meets will close the pool. They have an awesome splash pad, it’s really great and the only indoor one around. When there are swim meets sometimes the splash pad will also be closed, which is not ideal. The swim meet closing schedule is posted for the summer block on the website there are a lot of links to go through to find it and it’s available in the lobby. I hope they will do the same thing for the fall schedule and the winter schedule. So far this summer we haven’t experienced anything off schedule, but the winter swim meet and practice season is when it’s the most likely time that the reserved for member use lanes will close without notice.
I was there just to check out the scenery and despite the heat outside it's a very nice place to be active either inside or outside. I do plan to visit again and enjoy my time there, I'm sure you would also
great place! lots of fun for the kids & something to do for all members of the family.
Absolutely worst experience of my life.if I could give a 0 star I would. My husband bought as a surprise and when we went to visit the pool water was freezing cold. My toddler, whom very rarely gets cold was ice cold shaking with blue lips within 5 min of being in the water. Toddler side was just as cold if not colder. The smell was nauseating as well. The locker rooms were absolutely disgusting..my toddler didn’t even want to put her foot down when changing. Again..the smell was just atrocious. When emailing them not even a week into having the membership they told me the temp was 80 when I visited and they do their best to keep the facility clean. They would not allow me to cancel my member ship until I paid 150$. The weight room was an absolute joke. Out dated equipment at best in this small room. The entire building smelled as well. Absolute worst business experience ever. Do NOT waste your money or time! I reluctantly paid the 150$ just to get out of the situation. In no way did he offer to just cancel my membership and keep the 133 for activating it. Will be making a public post on SM as well. Beware!
The best place to challenge yourself in basketball with high hoops, great basketballs, and double rims. I love coming here and would definitely recommend it!
Our family had a pleasant experience for our first visit. We will be returning again.
My family reunion was there this year. It was spacious and that made even better for all of us to just enjoy our family. I am thankful that my family chose this location.
My daughter had a wonderful birthday party at SRAC. Everyone enjoyed the private room and pool. We'll def plan future parties here.
