Stopped in at 2pm on a Thursday not busy at all we ordered our drinks and an appetizer. Then ordered our main entrees. The app came out immediately followed by our meals and we still had not gotten our drinks. Brisket was so so. Flavor was good but consistency of shoe leather. Burnt ends were done, over sauced but edible. Cole slaw and beans were nothing to write home about. Atmosphere was nice, service was friendly but definitely she was not on the ball. As dead as it was we had to ask for things several times
Wonderful food and relaxing atmosphere. Service was excellent. Even though the outside dining room was full, we felt as if we were the only diners.Food: 5/5
Swung in on our way through Elkins today for lunch and split the zucchini planks and Magoo Burger with my husband. The zucchini planks were good, but could have used a touch of seasoning in the batter. The ranch was the good house made kind. We chose the burger because it comes with pulled pork and spicy pimento cheese and we wanted to try both without having to buy 2 more dishes. The Pimento cheese was delish, but I’m gonna have to say we’ll pass on any pulled pork dishes. It had the mildest of simple smoke flavor to it and was on the dry side. They do offer several types of sauce, which I appreciate. The rest of the burger was excellent. Perfectly cooked medium and the spicy bbq which wasn’t spicy at all went really well on it. House chips were ok. I also got a side of hushpuppies and potato salad. The menu stated that they would be $2 if added to an entree but we were charged full price. The hushpuppies are sweet and have whole corn pieces in them. The potato salad had a really good base, but sadly the potatoes were nearly raw and hard so I barley ate it.. That made me sad, because it would have been one of the better potato salads I’ve had. Waitress was nice but when asking for a suggestion she replied everything was smoked in house and all of it was good….so that wasn’t any help. Service overall was ok; a wee bit on the the slow side. They do up charge for credit cards we don’t mind, but it’s not noted anywhere we saw for those who do take issue with it and don’t like to be surprised and the tip suggestion is based on the post tax credit card total. Small issues, but they all add up.
It always smells great when you walk in, like a smokey cinnamon. Clean and woodsy. Service is great and friendly. Food is excellent! Spinach salad with salmon is my favorite, hubby loves the burgers. Hushpuppies were soft and sweet. Vegetarian options: Spinach salad has fruits, eggs, feta, almonds. Good protein and very filling.
After working all day .. Was looking forward to a chicken wrap .. Was very disappointed with ... Chicken was very over done ... All I could taste was burnt chicken .... Kate our server was nice . We ate outside ....when leaving male server let door slam in my face ....He saw me walking towards door... Where I'm from a man holds the door for a pregnant lady ... $50.00 later left hungry ..
Great food and really decent prices. Pet friendly. Sat on the porch with our Yorkie. The ribs were tender and easy to get off the bone. Sweet potato fries were a plus. The server was friendly and attentive bringing our pup a bowl of water. Really a nice place to eat and relax on the porch. Inside of the restaurant was really nice also. Will go back in the future .
The food was exceptional! Loved the outdoor seating! great way to spend my 82nd birthday. Have eaten here many times and never disappointed. Parking: Buses welcome Kid-friendliness: Also dog friendly! Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps available
Pleasantly surprised. We got the burnt ends and ribs. We normally get ribs at a BBQ place to see if it's bbq that we like or not. These were the best we have had in a long time. We liked that they used dry rub vs wet and they were cooked perfectly. The selection of sauces were good as well. Had spicy for my husband and mild for me.Food: 5/5
Brisket is tender enough to cut with a fork. Melts in your mouth. My dining partner got the loaded fries and the Margarita flight raspberry, strawberry, peach and mango. She liked her Loaded fries. Brisket was the star of the show. Little pricey but everything is now and the portions were big. Had a nice Big Timber Octoberfest....crisp. Great local craft beer selection on draft.
Food was great as always, but the service wasn't up to par. We had a waitress that spent more time behind the bar than she was serving the tables, another worker kept apologizing for our waitress not coming to our table. It took roughly 15 minutes before she even came to take our drink order. The table next to us was having the same issue. We would ask for something and she would go get herself something to drink instead of getting our stuff, had to get her attention while she was talking, then she remembered what was needed. The icing on the cake was that she took my sons food before he was done. Hopefully this isn't the norm now, because we always loved eating here.
