I had a great time teaching basket weaving here! Sue was very welcoming and has created a lovely environment where people enjoy spending their time. If you enjoy pottery but don't want to pick up a new hobby, you can still go and purchase some finished pieces from their gallery in the front of the studio.
Sue is a friendly person who is very easy to work with. This is a place to check out whether you're a pro or an amateur!
Thank you Sue!!! You have a great studio! My husband and I had so much fun on Saturdays throw down! Looking for to going back to the studio again!
I've been taking classes here for two years and cannot say enough great things about it. Sue the owner is a talented potter and has built a warm community of people who help each other, encourage each other, and who all feel like family. This is a great place to learn a new creative skill, and to find some beautiful pottery for sale!
The atmosphere of this local pottery studio is everything you could ask for. Between the community that you find with locals to the local music on the radio station and the wonderful instruction I highly recommend taking a class here.
I rented wheel time from the owner, Sue, while I was visiting town. She was so accommodating in letting me create in the studio, and even fired my pieces and mailed them to me, since I live out of town! I would recommend this studio to anyone who's ever wanted to try pottery. Everything about it is just lovely.
We did the Saturday night throw down and loved it. Sue is so helpful and fun. She wants to help you make whatever you want and you get to make three pieces. Great intro to wheel throwing!
Walked in here a few times to buy pottery from the space at the front of the building and got drawn in to taking an 8 week class. Have never thrown clay before in my life and I'm four weeks in and loving it. The instructors are all very encouraging and have helped me progress far faster than I would have on my own. The price was exceptional for the classes and the experience. 10/10 will take classes again here
Sue does a wonderful job teaching classes here. I always look forward to my weekly class. Smokestack has a fantastic community environment that is great for learning. Sue' s teaching style is flexible and allows different types of learners to succeed.
Sue is incredible!! A friend and I got to work with her to make some pots, and she was absolutely the most wonderful instructor. 10/10 would take a class with her again!
